Boy, we're missing out here :(; we neither have the beautiful Oregon Country nor the curvaceous Florida scenery.

New England..in the Green and White mountain area look like Oregon. Try not to think of Hartford,CT/Boston,Mass/Providence,RI and other such areas as atypical New England.

And it was -11 last night and 1 foot of snow on its way.......:wtf:

About 8 more weeks until Florida scenery. Car outside temp display said -8F this morning, and there was also a stiff wind. Nose is runny, hands are dry and cracking. Can't wait to get the *&$# outta here!

Gold Bond for the hands works wonders. Northern states & Canada are brutal this time of year and I expect it will get worse in the coming months. I never understood why people live up there . . .

I guess the reason we live up here is that we can't live down there..and that's probably just as well cause if we all went down there you'd have no where to go for a peaceful ride as we'd all be out there looking for the same thing and it'd be sooooo busy it wouldn't be any fun at all so you probably wouldn't go. :)

On a more serious answer to your question there are some of us who actually enjoy winter recreation. I think I learned to skate before I learned to walk..still playing hockey at age 61..and then there are the mountains to ski in which is something that I plan to do a lot more when I retire..right now not enough time. Here's a vid..probably an ad type thing from one of the local hills here..been there and it's lots of fun..

I've always heard that those Canucks to the North were kind of crazy now I know why. :D

We've had a rather dry time the last two months. Even the sky slopes are very low on snow. My lower legs have been dry and itchy and been putting Keri Lotion on em and it has helped plus keeps the hands from cracking to.

I've used it before and it works good, too. Gold Bond smells better, though LOL. "Cool" vid, Sleepy, thanks!

Actually found one good thing we have you "Southern boys" don't. Pulled a beer from the 'fridge, wanted it colder. Put it out on the front step for about 15 minutes, nasty cold last night, went out and got it, just starting to get ice crystals in it. Mmmmmm,Mmmmm good! Faster than any freezer could do it.

I worked hard to, cut a Christmas tree, then decorated the outside of the house, then cleaned out the pellet stove and got it all tuned up and burning good. Then drug the dang tree inside, finally got it into the stand (what a pain) then vacuumed around the hall and living room where I drug the dang tree through.
Told the wife I'm pooped out and you get to decorate the damm tree. :wtf:

I put up our fake tree again this year. most of the lights didn't work and had to buy new ones. Brought them home and had to go back and exchange a strand that didn't work. Oh, the pain, boss! Mac the Wife wrapped a sheet around the bottom of it when all was done. That is the extent of our Christmas decorations this year.

Josh, we got 4 trees, roping on front porch, lights on house. Only reason we dont have more, is I told the wife... enough, you are killing me...

Eastern Carolina, where we are is not the most exciting landscape in North Carolina. However its great motorcycle riding roads. Flat, straight and just disapear over the horizon in any direction. There is more than one way to get from here to there. I use to ride my kids on the bike over to buckleberry (swimming hole) the back roads and would never see a car. Thats 1 motorcycle with 3 kids on it,lol.

Wow. Yes, we do have good roads here, though some are falling into disrepair from lack of funding. They give the highway money away to freeloaders. I think it was luck that China landed on the moon. They got most of their space tech from Bill Clinton.
