Hello, and Sorry Guys just had to bust in here somewhere. I know i don't post much, but over the last year and a half of reading here I feel as if I've known Ya all for Years. But anyway, 14 friends and I took that 700 mile ride to bike week and after the third day there we decided to shoot off to the Cabbage Patch, Woops, my Heritage would not start, rolled it off fired right up, headed down Atlantic going 3 blocks down for gas, Thought I would turn off head lights to let it charge(not a good idea, as I soon found out). I didn't make it half way before, Mr. Policeman on a Kawasaki pulled me over. He asked to see all paper work, at which I did very nicely, (Yes Sir, No Sir, ect) and Told him what my problem was, and then he quoted the law, and I told him I was sorry, and all I had to do was just give the switch one more click, and all was fixed, Well he just kept punching in that Black box on the back of his Trailbike, and shot a Super market size peice of paper, and told me it was worth, $116.00, didnt make my day! Anyway, what if I don't Pay this, Is there anyway around it, I was told by a few other people there, that to just show a repair bill, and send in with a $25.00 check, and if they cashed it I'm out of it...... I dont know, What is the advise from you Guys? I spent close to a Grand there in Florida, Just didn't want to give away anymore. Thanks

Bite the bullet. Sucks but at least no worries about future repercussions. Visit Fla.,bring your check book.

All the places are hurting for money so doubt they are gonna accept a 25 check. If you don't pay it a warrant can be issued for your arrest. I think it would be cheaper in the long run to just bit the bullet and send em a repair bill, an explanation letter along with the full amount. That way the nexttimeyou go to Floriday you won't be looking over your shoulder.

Yeah I get what you mean. I guess I kinda felt sorry for the contracted Cop that day, after the large group of Bikers at the gas station found out why he wrote me a ticket, he got called some pretty bad names........:roflmao:

Yeah we should get a better list out of cop hang outs and areas

For the most part LEO's are very tolerant of a lot of things
all you have to do is something really stupid, but with the economy
in the crapper LEO's here are rolling tax collectors.

If you run south on Tomoka Farms Road out of the cabbage patch
the LEO's always work that road right after the slight curve, seems
a lot of bikes have been sitting in traffic and open up the throttle
he could have been nice and given you a warning. But they are ALWAYS there.

They hang out by the horse in Ormond as well.

They also hang out on seabreeze bridge just over the crest
as a lot of folks get out of main street and crack the throttle,
same on Speedway bridge over the river. You just gotta know these
and out of towners dont, pass it on...

I'd do as you say and go for the court costs with repair and
get the ticket tossed for fixing the equipment, which you did.

Sorry I didnt make it up still have a bit of the cold, almost bronchitis
level, rode up Sat afternoon for a few hours and came home early.

Biketoberfest I'll be there, better event JMO

Many years ago, following my wife and daughter home from church no less. Was in my jeep, wife got pulled... went up to barney and said "do you not have something better to do than pull people after church? Can you not go find a criminal?" He said " go back to your jeep son or go to jail"... went back to my jeep muttering...

I know of two retired cops here in Oregon and both have attitudes, must be from the jobs they had. Wife and I tried being friends with one of them as they ride Harley's but it just became to much. Not meaning that your sons have attitudes Fatboy.
