you may get killed or maimed, but your family didnt sign the waiver, they are at free will to sue in your demise............

That's the kind of reasoning they used for not wanting to mount your tires in the first place. Everybody is afraid of liability! Why don't shops worry about mounting car tires? I never saw a shop refuse to do them.

    yeah phone keyboard...

Some waivers include your heirs, estate etc so when you waive
you waive it all, at a minimum you and your estate

Wife can still sue but she may be limited in recovery
she'd have to prove the installation of the tire
was the cause, not the tire, road, nails, etc....

Ah hell, tell em to stick it you-know-where. Buy the tire from a mail-order discount place and put it on yourself. Nobody has to worry about getting sued, and you get to learn a little self-sufficiency while saving some hard-earned money. Someday, that dealer will be sending out fliers begging for business, and you can give them the finger.

Me too. Except the ones I use are little plugs shaped like a bullet that you push into the hole of a tubeless tire. They're supposed to be only temporary to get you home, but I just leave em in unless tire keeps leaking.

That brings up a statement I have always heard: You're supposed to buy a new tire after it's been patched / plugged. I never have--running it till it's worn out. If it's just a nail or a screw, I figure the tire is still sound after it's patched. Motorcycle tires are very well made.

I have patched tires but I have them put in a tube too life is too short to risk it on a plug or patch. Jmo no offense to anyone that does.

Had a new Avon with under 100 miles get a nail pit in a tube and rode it full use

I plugged a tire 500 miles away from home once. Used those mushroom headed plugs. Those things work great. Rode it home and then some until I changed the tire. :)

Yeah, I was kinda surprised when I saw on their instructions that they were only temporary. But I figured they were only trying to "CYA" in case they got complaints.

Hotroadking is right though. Should put a tube in after a hot patch just to be safe. I'm not tight, but I won't throw away a $150 tire.

I'm running Michelin Commanders on mine now. They're less money than Metzelers, and are more comfortable riding with just as long mileage. I have to say, Dunlops are good tires too--just too stiff for me. They will hold up the bike even when flat!

I'll never ever run a Metz tire again. Didn't even get 4000 miles out of the last one I had on the bike. It not only went flat but it shredded, leaving me stranded on Memorial Day in Northern Calif. on HWY 101 one year. Had to trailer it home.
I'm so far been staying with Dunlap and getting good results.
