So that why you sold your spare springer to fund a Brit Bike club?

Didn't sell it yet it's still for sell. But I'm sure my old friend Dan at Columbia will get it sold.
We have a lot of roads up here where that bike would be a lot of fun.

I find the Thruxton and Bonneville are the Triumphs that catch my eye. Not sure about all those fibreglass bags hanging off the sports tourers on the market. JMO.

I use my Springer for running around town and short trips, it does not do corners very well. The Thruxton and Bonneville are smaller bikes. Good running around town bikes. We don't have a lot of flat road riding here, lots of mountain twisty roads. As for the plastic great for when you get caught in the rain like my friend did last night when he was on his way back from his new body shop. We had a huge heavy rain storm last evening and he called me and said just the very bottom of his jeans got wet.
They come stock with 98 HP and top speed is 135 so it's not a sport bike. The bags are great for carrying a rain jacket or other small items.

Yes, you are right about the weather protection of the fairings on a sport tourer, and they are a good all around bike, just not my thing anymore. Of course, a good deal is hard to walk away from... Ride it for a summer and flip it next year and still come out ahead.

I rode a 1992 Kaw ninja and the experience sucked ass. It was like riding a whosshing magic carpet of wind. Didn't like it.

The Yamha FJR is a tempting 2nd or 3rd bike. Sport touring. I had to give up the 1996 S2T buell because my stomach was winning the battle
