Most of them I have seen blue real bad. And I've been told by owners that Thunder-Header customer service is terrible.

    Something else I remembered.

American Iron Horse motorcycles and some Big Dog motorcycle used to come with Supertrapp 2in1 pipes from the factory with the S&S motors.
A lot of them didn't have any disc. They wanted them louder.
Some guys used to buy the pipes from them if anybody ever took them off at the American Iron Horse dealership in Huntsville, Texas.
This is one of the places I learned about them.
The owner of the place bought all the American Iron Horse motorcycle before they went out of business. A lot of them if I remember came with a 113cu motor.

I actually lost a case of beer on a bet with a parts guy at the shop years ago. When I went from a thunderheader to a pro pipe he told me I'd pick up horsepower on my 89 inch evo. I told him no way that was going to happen, but it did, not much but it did. So in that case I got less noise and more go. I was looking for a good pipe with a little less noise.

I liked the sound of the Thunderheader better but the pro pipe seems to have the noise down to a civilized level. Not a bad video though. The guy put a little thought into it.

It was to my Understanding that the Thunder Headers used to be for the Old Evo's

I think if I remember right I had 22 disc in my Supertrapp supermegs.

This was my 2008 EG I did a 103 motor on.
The sound ain't killer bacause its in a Dyno trailer of Wolfgang Grassers.
And it only got loud when you twisted the throttle hard.
But it would scream for a 103. Had the Woods TW6 cam in it.
It was a kit from R&R cycles I did.

I don't pay much attention to sound video on pipes. It gives somewhat of an idea but rarely base a decision solely on them. If I had to choose from these three based off of sound, I would go with the thunderheader.

I base mine off real world experience not just a video. A video like this one gives you a start. Even in real world experience the pro pipe sounds better to me. The Thunder Header is not bad just like the sound of Pro Pipe better. You find a pipe you like the sound of on a video go out and listen to them in real world.

That was what I like about motorcycle rallies like Street Vibs, Sturgis or others. The major pipe manufactures are there and you get to see them up close and personal.
I know a lot of guys that once they get over that loud Harley sound actually put on a set of mufflers that are much quieter. I also know a lot who are now leaving the stock mufflers on to.
Having a good sound out of your exhaust can be good but to much sound can be bad also.

I have had both, power wise they are equal, the thunderheader
was designed for the evo, not much has been done to it since it came out
and the Y wasn't big enough for the taller 117 and up engines,

In fact you'll run up on fit issues with the taller and wider stroker
engine and the 2-1 Y section on these pipes,

When those guys paid 44,000 for a motorcycle with a Big S&S motors. You think they cared about Baffles ?
Or about waking up the neighbors.

I'll bet you that bike didn't fetch anywhere near that used. Some outfit bought up a bunch of new American Ironhorse bikes a while back. can't give 'em away.

They was nice bikes, Just over priced. Some of the cams in the bike had such high lift you had to get to about 80 for them to run right. But it was what people wanted.
You still see some running around here. They are powerrul and run good.
I just can't get over such a Fat Ass rear tire.
I'm a Bagger dude. Got floorboards and saddle bags and a Tourpack.
When I leave Mama is usually on the bike. She loves laying back against the tourpack. And having her feet on floor boards.
She has hats and sunglasses and candy hit in the tourpack and all.
She has sweatshirts, and a leather jacket and all. you never know if its gonna be warm and get cold this time of the year. And it might rain.
Never know when we might pick up something and need room to bring it home.

I've got an old EVO FXRS that I love riding. 80 per cent of the time when I get out on the bike my wife is with me. She's a lot like your gal for loading up the bags and tourpack for the same reasons. I guess it's safe to say I'm the bagger boy as well..at least 80 per cent of the time ;)
