OK you need to do some tuning runs, all they did was load a map
and obviously it is the wrong map, 29-31 is off.

Go through the manual, I haven't done the new SESPT but I believe it's
similar to the old SERT, you will need to get the cables, pull the side panel
hook up the PC to the bike and go through the riding/tuning procedure
to setup the VE for the cells, don't worry about the target AFR or timing for
    now.

The VE (Volumetric Efficiency) cells are the key, if they are wrong
the AFR target will never be hit.

I am ignorant. Why does a new (tight) motor get bad gas mileage??

oh I see. That's makes sense. A tighter engine has to work harder to move the pistons with the new tight fitting rings. And because it is breaking in the rings by wearing the parts down to fit together better. A new motor also produces more heat than a broke in motor. I went thru this process when I had my shovelhead rebuilt. The break-in is very important part of a shovelheads life. A lot of diligent care must be taken to do it right. My emchanic is like a doctor. He gave very specific instructions for the first 1000 miles. I felt like I was caring for a new born baby.

He is great and my motor runs great. Chicago Bob is my mechanics name.
Nice looking bike FLHT, is that a twinkie?
    I was looking at a S&S Dual Cam engine on eBay, 140 hp~! $7,000.
I wish I had the money and the bike to drop it into.
    That's a lot of HP.
My 'ole 103 ci shovelhead had 105 HP and I thought that was a lot~!
    140 hp is ridiculous~!

Not familiar with the term Twinkie

The bike is back at the dealer right now and they are also going to look at sensors plus the tunning.

The mileage on my 09 Ultra 103 stage II, 255 cams gutted mufflers with big city thunder baffles in the headpipes, SEST tuned on the dyno is usually 39-43 MPG depending on how hard I push it. 3500 miles on this build, I maybe picked up 3-4 MPG after it got broke in.:D

I don't own a twinkie 'cause I can't work on it myself. I don't feel like paying the dealer hudreds of dollars to work on my bike. I would much rather ride a shovelhead and wrench it myself.
    Your bike is pretty tho.

If you can wrench an evo or shovel you
can wrench on a twin cam...

Other than a locking tool for the cam gears
it's just wrenches' sockets and allens...

    Very simple engines, probably easier
than a shovel with the new twin cam
    and new cam plate....

Get the cables, read the manual
and get your VE tables done yourself..

My bike is just a bike, no fairing, no radio, no cd player, no gps, no blue tooth. Just a set of throwover bags. If i get out and ride it at 55-60 mph for extended rides I get 50-52 mpg. At 70-75 I get 50 mpg.
On a lazy putt on the back roads I get 45-48.
My Bike is an 03 FXDX with SE mufflers a home made air cleaner on a Big Sucker back plate and Kenfuzed's carb kit.
