I'm waiting on that eco boost V6..wanna try that one..good to know about the front end problems. We got some guys at work with the Chevys..not a lot of big miles on 'em yet though. I like the Ford, my wife likes the Chevy..[lower, easier to get into] I got my work cut out for me on this

Eco Boost is out but hard to find, doing the same
just put new upper and lower ball joints in my Eff Juan Fiddy

3 of the 4 were gone, sway bar end joints were toast
put on some shocks (Bilsteins) all around and brake pads.a

    Rides like new now....

Also had COP $4 go out, $110 for a coil wow,
at 100+K went ahead and paid the dealer to
change plugs $380, the Supercharged 5.4L
has a bad rep for plugs getting stuck and
ripping out the threads in the heads....

They have to pull coils, squirt some
fluid in each plug hole to loosen plugs
    reinstall, start, heat, then remove
coils, then sit overnight, then pull plugs

JMO well worth the money LOL

Parts and labor prices has gone up.
But you can gt 100,000 out of a set of plugs nowdays.

Guy down the street has a mechanic shop 50 miles south of here.
He wanted his locks on his shop changed. He fired a mechanic.
I drove down there on a sunday.
Had him to change my wifes plugs. The has over 50,000 on her truck.
He sprayed some WD 40 or something in the holes. broke a couple plugs off in the hole. Dripped a hole and put a tool in from a kit ad unscrewed them.
Put antiseeze in the threads of the new plugs and put them in.
Really didn't take him that long with the kit he has for it.
Know the mechanics git a lot of money for it.
They git a lot of money for whatever they can.

You can git the ecoboost in the 2011 Ford engines.

In my '84 F-150, I use anti-seize on my plugs ever since I tightened some of them up too much once. Big headache. Now, I torque them to 15 - 20 ft. lbs. and they stay put and come out like they're supposed to. Same thing for the shovelhead.

Yeah you have to use anti seize
FOMOCO says they are 100K plugs
but what happens is after 60 to 70K
the spark gets weaker, so the coil
works harder, and then bang, bad coil

Best to change them no more than 50 to 60K

Problem is they are not antiseized at factory.

You drop threads in a cyl on the engine
    and it's a $3K repair....
