OK :D got my a/c unit going in the house again, a must in my part of the country, and think I got the leak on the tank fixed. Used some new 55% silver that came out a couple years ago, it has the flux on it already like a welding rod, nice stuff, really flows well. Couldn't get any water to leak out but only pressured as much as I did before, need to come up with a better way to pressure tank up like chucktx suggested, how do u do it chuck?

I would bring it to a radiator repair shop. That is where I brought my gas tank when I bought it. JMO

i use a regulator to reduce the airpressure. i plug the holes and use tape tocover the vent hole in the cap. i take the pressure up to 5psi or so and use soapy water to check for leaks........

This has been very interesting. Never had to fix a leaking gas tank. Hmmm, wonder what Jones would do. :D

He would probably try and paint over it but it would probably show through and would be interesting to see how he would try and explain it or try and talk his way out of it. Hey, were giving possibilities here. :roflmao:

Only about 10 miles so far JB, just ran into town and filled up the tank. Will definitely put more this weekend though, hopefully no issues but will let everyone know if something happens.

Alright put 145 miles on her today, no bubble gum needed, also went from 35 mpg to 46 mpg with my new V-Ductor! :D Want to keep checking before deciding I gained 11 mpg, seems like a lot. But I'll sure take it:roflmao:
Off the subject I road into Beaumont, TX. today to the Cowboy Harley dealership, nice place, they had a Corvette car show going on in the parking lot, some really nice rides.

Fixed a GM gas tank leak with Jujyfruit gum years ago. The old fillers were behind the license plate. The filler neck was about 8 inches long and it leaked where it entered the tank. Chewed me up a whole pack then smashed it around the filler neck. Held tight for years with no leaks! Seriously! It hardened like a rock.

Cool, I am glad that you got it worked out... Maybe your gas mileage calculation was off because of the leak????:roflmao:
