Haven't been out on a cruise yet..still not 100% well. Yesterday kicked my ass back down. Was cold drizzly and damp while I was outside doing stuff.

Not bad idea except I keep getting up and going in the barn to keep tinkering on the bike. Can't quiet get the new clutches dialed in and some of the parts didn't quite match up. Like the fender struts. Gonna have to clean up the old ones and put them back on as the new ones holes don't quite line up. I think because the clutches are new they are gonna be stiff. Worse case scenario the synchronizers in the transmission are worn.

Only good for a few minutes because I start feeling like chit. Plus it's been a Easter egg hunt chasing down the extra ignition and lock key. Found the extra ignition key and will have to go to the hardware store for the lock key. Back then the neck locks with a lock thru the 2 holes. Nothin cool like today.

And every time I go into my truck there's a wasp,4 so far. Nothing like tooling down the road at 50mph with a big brown wasp flying around your head:eek:

It's been cold here to this last week and it's been hard to want to really get going putting the Triumph back together. Got the front sprocket on and the swing arm back installed. But today is grandkids soccer games and a Road Captains meeting. Granddaughters started at 8:30 and is now done. grandsons is at 2:30 and a Road Captains meeting at 1:00 PM.

Grandkids soccer games are fun to watch.

I've never gotten into one and just assumed they had them. And I hope never to have to. I'm hoping the clutches are stiff because new and with use will loosen up a little and more adjusting.

Yeah was reading about it and the only place I could imagine a problem is with the " dogs" or " slots" but then it would be popping out of gear. In the little ride I took going from first to second was not easy

Junior on the bike. He's perplexed. He's happy because he's always wanted the bike but not happy because I told him no MSF course, no license, no bike. Not even a ride. He knows how to ride. He wanted to take it for a ride and I told him no way. He knows how to ride but I want him to take MSF course and get a license.

Day off. I finally took the '83 out. Yeah 1st to 2nd is a little stiff. But I remembered what I used to do...catch 2nd pretty much as soon as I got rolling, blipping the throttle a couple times first. The more I rode and shifted the better it was getting. Probably just the new clutches.

Boy has HD come along way. Turn gas on/ off..don't have to do that any more. Turn it on,choke the S&S Super E, let it warn up a bit, turn off the choke and off you go. Because of the lowering the suspension I need to watch the cornering. Scrapped the floor boards once. Felt cool cruising down the road on that old beast. Can't believe I rode that for 25 years hard. Sat covered n the barn for 7 years...not good. Won't do that again. If it doesn't get ridden I'll sell it.

Yeah, looking forward to junior getting his license and going thru the tutorial phase. I don't imagine we'll be doing any serious riding the first year anyways.

Where you live there are a buttload of cool day rides for yall to enjoy. Dude I really envy you for being able to have that experience with your son. I don't think my oldest son will ever ride (he is whipped). My two youngest will ride while they are still young. I am looking forward to touring with them.

That '83 is a classic; no two ways about it. Went on a poker run last Saturday to raise money for a rider who has cancer. I'll never know the joy of riding with a son, although riding with my biker family brothers and sisters now and then is a great experience.

Sending your boy to school is a smart idea.
