I used my Gamin to find a house I had to get to yesterday out in the country side. Told me to turn right and then in a 1/2 mile said arriving. Wrong  house and wrong direction :cussing:. Needed to turn left and go about a 1/4 mile to the correct house. Stupid thing. :banghead:

Strange, heard of a case or two, but have had my Garmin for several years and used it countless times. Except for looking for a house in a new area where roads put in after the map made, have never had it fail me. ;)

I used it a second time yesterday as well and again took me to the wrong address. These addresses were preexisting long before the Garmin was made.

Got a Zumo 550 for my bike and truck. It does pretty good.

We got to go to a memorial service for our friend who was killed on his bike in Sept. Its about 150 miles to the south. I printed a map off from Google maps so I can make sure I know how to get there. :)

Printed map took me right where I needed to be.

Had stopped at the dealer on on the way down and a couple guys I know have GPS units on their bikes. Now they are all three mounting on the right bar a cell phone holder. There bikes are so cluttered with so much crap on the bars they are going to crash trying to read the GPS and the answering their phone. :gah:
I asked em why don't you just pull over to make a call and they responded hut what if the wife calls to find out what time your going to be home for dinner.

Look at the junk on yet bike
Tour PAC , floorboards , radio, all kinds of gauges , saddlebags ,abs brakes
Air shocks, turn signals , fairing ,fr fender
I'd take some if the stuff off
Makes you have to hold yet legs out to take off or come to s stop
Bet it would fit better fuel mileage
If you looked dt my gps it took up about as much room as s rear view mirror

But, my trunk, floorboards, turn signals I don't have to read while riding or try and talk to them distracting me and causing me to crash. :banghead:

Exactly....There was a bike came into the dealers here on the back of a wrecker all smashed up, when we were checking it over I asked the dealer what that thing was mounted on the handle bars....he said it's what caused the crash,it was a mount for a video camera and the guy was watching the screen instead of the road, missed the turn and went over an embankment....Very lucky he and his wife survived with only broken bones and a totaled bike...
I know it's not a GPS or cell phone but same idea...it causes you to not pay attention of whats going on around you...lucky for this couple the trees stopped their 500ft free fall to the ocean....beautiful scenery but you don't want to become part of it....

I have a Garmin 1350 LMT which has free lifetime map updates, it allows you to update the unit up to 4 times a year. The unit is about $160 with the lifetime maps included.

So you can't walk and chew gum at the same time.
Guess you never glance down and look at yer speedometer cause it might distract you. Or look at yer fuel guage.
    Wow.

I have a cord I can run from my GPS unit to the plug on the radio speaker, then the sound comes out the radio speakers with the lady tellin you where to go.

I don't know how y'all ride a bike, you got to hold it up, pull the clutch in and put it in gear withone foot and give it gas as yer lettin out the clutch and look for traffic and stay in yer lane and not run over anything then do the whole process of shifting gears and workin the gas and clutch and try to sit on top of it all at once.
