Heading out tomorrow with one of my buddies for an overnight ride. Gonna go up Blue Ridge Parkway from Asheville to near Roanoke Va... Spend night somewhere up there, then come back down 221, cut across WNC to east Tenn and catch the old road up the mtn across Sam's Gap into Asheville. Won't be over 250 miles each day, but will take all day...can not wait... hope rain stays away!

Managed to get ride in... stayed dry Sat even though it was overcast and sprinkled a bit. Rode up BRP just south of Roanoke. Stopped at Maybry Mill just over VA line, built in early 1900's. Reconstructed and working grist mill, with saw mill, jig saw, and blacksmith cabin. Came back down HWY 221 on Sunday, cut across WNC on Hwy 88 into Tenn on Hwy 67. Old Hwy 421 back into NC, then Hwy 321 back into Tenn. Down through Unicoi and Irwin Tenn and up old Rd across Sams Gap into Asheville. 235 miles on Saturday and 260 on Sunday. Both days were 10am to about 5 or 6pm. Sunday weather was spectacular. Cold, crisp, and bright sun. What a great weekend!!;) Near Viaduct.jpg Pull off on BRP north of Boone.jpg Church sign BRP.jpg Church BRP north of Boone.jpg BRP at NC - Va line.jpg Horse riders off BRP.jpg Maybry Mill - BRP - VA.jpg Bikes at Hilsville VA.jpg HWY 221 heading south from VA.jpg

It was 39 here this morning. Those were some cool pics, guys. MC, I liked the one of you. Got to finally see what you look like . I'm going for a ride in a few minutes. It has dried out enough, though it is a chilly 60 out.

Got the day off today (fall break) and back to school tomorrow.

image.jpg Was out riding the new Springer today looking for the oil leak that has developed and saw this view up by my daughters home that is across the river from my town. Looking from West Linn over to Oregon City, pretty cool view with the Willamette river and the Willamette falls and MT Hood in the background. I think fall is here.

I've got a little digital camera that takes pretty good pics. I did enhance it and crop the pic, yea came out pretty good. There is a pull off on I-205, not a rest area but a place for people to see the falls and take pics.

Maddog and I did a ride to some covered bridges and the fall colors were pretty great today. Used my I-Phone today but they still came out pretty good. 185 miles today and at the end can you believe we were riding home in our T-shirts. It was so nice today it was like summer. Just a fantastic beautiful day.
