USA is in a mess no matter how you look at it. Common sense out the window. Right is wrong and wrong is right? We should have seen it coming when they started taking the pledge of alligiance and prayer out of the class room. This country is and will always be one nation under God.

Gas is around two and a half bucks around here for regular. I'm afraid to fill my tank. The top 3/4 is surely all rusted out by now.

My OL works for a Big Oil company.
They started asking if people would take packages and leave last week.
If they don't take the packages, After the 1st of the year. They will probably loose their job and get nothing.
This is for the CHEAP gas prices.
OPEC met with everybody. They tried to get OPEC to stop producing so much oil at one time. OPEC said no.
It cost opec like 25.00 a barrel to jab a stick in the sand and get a gallon of oil up.
It cost the people in the U.S. about 50-55 a gallon to jab a stick in the ground and git a gallon of oil up.
When the price gets too low. The smaller oil people here can't afford to sell oil.
Because the profit level has gone.
So the competition gets in a bind and gets bought out by larger companies.
Its gonna be felt all way across the board.
Car lots will have more cars that are not being bought. Cause you are gonna see more and more people losing their jobs.

Enjoy your time with cheap gas. Cause sooner or later you will feel the pain of things that will go up in price and people loosing their jobs more and more.
Hear this BS will go on till at least next summer.

same stuff happened in the 70's and houston went south
you could shoot a cannon downtown through the buildings
    and not hit a soul.

Tulsa was the same, only new building built in the 80's was a jail...

OPEC is trying to control the market prices, get it cheap while you can...

Y'all scream about all of that.
What is bad is for the Federal Government to borrow and take money for years for other projects from the SSI.
And folks coming from other countries getting to draw from it, when they have never paid in.
    It shouldn't be allowed.

The government needs to be held accountable. Its not their money.

When you see people loosing their homes and cars because they lost their jobs from Gas being so cheap.
Think how much you love it.
I seen it back in the 80's

    It was terrible.
I went into pawn shops doing lockwork. Seeing machinest and everybodys tools.
Went into the Homes that they didn't even have the money to move their furniture and clothes out.
They lost their life savings trying to survice.
    And they Had kids.
They got a bus ticket and had to go find family.

You know what you say is sad CB. But it's the circle of life. I lost my job due to the huge cost of oil back in 2008-9. Couldn't get back into my industry cause all the same companies were laying off and I had to take early SS

I'm sorry but my bottom dollar counts to. When Obummer took over gas here was 1.76 and it's still 2.35 right now. We were paying close and sometimes over 4.00 a gallon for the last several years. It's been nice not breaking the bank for gas.
Deisel prices got so high here I parked my pickup and quit driving the Dodge. I like the lower prices and hope they stay.

Had the same thing happen here in Calgary at the same time Houston got pounded by cheap oil. Interest rates were a lot higher then but homes were being sold for a dollar just so people could get out from being in a mortgage they couldn't pay. A lot of people got hurt bad. I never want to see 140 dollar oil ever again. I think that had a fair bit to do with the recession of 2008. I don't know if your economy could have functioned properly at 140 oil but up here it was unsustainable. something had to give. 80 dollars is a workable number

That was a real long time ago. Back then my wages weren't very high either so it kinda balanced out but now at 4 plus a gallon as it was just not to long ago it was hard on everyone. I remember when gas was .25 a gallon but then I was only making 1.25 an hour. We used to pull in to a gas station and tell the pump jockey give me a bucks worth.

A buck at one time would fill my 350 Yamaha. Granted I'd only get 80 miles or so if I rode it hard. :)
