Better sell your bike and buy a 2007 or older bike as even some of the 2008 bikes came with ABS.

    Please Forgive me.
You are the only person that knows about ABS.
I just started riding. So did my buddy's too.

I know when it shakes and pulsates and the bike jumps about 10' between pulsates.

You must of been riding on wet surfaces. If you know anything about ABS you would know that it will pulsate to keep your tires from locking up and yes they will bring you to a stop faster than the older brakes would.

Never had ABS brakes so I can't comment about them, but I love reading the differing opinions about them - keep them coming, please!

ABS brakes demand a different driving style when braking. If you just lay on the pedal they will slow you and still allow steering control, whereas conventional brakes would lock up and now you skid, no steering control. The problem with ABS is once you are below about 5mph, they will not let the wheels come to a complete stop until you release and reapply the brake. Wife's first winter stop with her new ABS equipped car taught her this. I told her to be ready for it and not be scared, and all went well.
ABS is safer. Go to a parking lot on a wet, slick day, practice with it under panic stops, and then try your non ABS equipped bike. ABS when used properly is safer for 99% of the population. Now a full on race driver can likely get a second off his time on a track without the ABS because he can control the bike or car in situations everyone else would be in the wall with. That's why he races and you don't.

Maybe I should say a properly working ABS system is safer. A malfunctioning one can really ruin your day quickly.

I have abs brakes on my 08 SG and like them a lot. They work really good in loose gravel.

Picked up a NEW 2014 Ultra yesterday. No water cooling, no $1800 radio. It has Everything I want. AND I got a GREAT deal trading my 09 SG with 75k+ miles. Candy orange, looks great. PS, a friend of mine is pickling up his 41,000 $ CVO Roadglide today. 41 THOUSAND Dollars!!!! Geez, that's a lot of snake skins, WTF!

Wow, seems everbody's getting new bikes. Congrats, Charlie. Yup, lotsa frogskins for a new bike these days. I bought my 74-year-old house in Hobgood for less than your friend paid for his new bike, LOL.

Hope you have many fun miles on it!

Well, I guess you can't go back any further than that! I rode my first bike when I was in my late twenties - no bragging rights there, LOL.

Yep, Pop was an original NYC motorcycle messenger/delivery guy back in his youth. I only wish they took pictures back then.

Man, lots of congrats on new bike purchases around here lately! It is nice to see that even with the concerns with the product and its options everyone is still voting with their wallets on what overall is still the most desirable and most stylish motorcycle on the planet.
