Congratulations on the new bike, a Ultra :D your gonna love it. What do you think of the 103 with the 255 cams. That orange is not to bad looking either.
To bad you didn't get the new big screen on your new bike as that's one of the things I really love about it. Does it come with the ABS and the Linked brakes?

The CVO's have been in and out of lawsuits since their inception for one thing or another, this one you posted is yet another CVO litagation.

It's too bad for Harley-Davidson. I think this problem, along with some others I have read about the CVO, will drive prospective customers away. They're not having this problem with the V-Rod engine because the cooling system was designed with the motor from the ground up. Seems to me like they just tacked some parts on to an older, existing motor and hoped for the best.

They are selling every CVO that is on the showroom floor and they don't sit around long. If the dealership I go to had an attitude about the CVO I would go someplace else. I can say that there are no leaking water issues here with the CVO or the Limited as they have the exact cooling heads. The ones that leaked were in 2013 when the 14's first came out. So a year later they seem to be working fine.

    Bottom Line.

I will not own a water cooled Harley.

There are a lot of us who prefer the air cooled models and riders will always have a choice, I think, between the two.

Yes, I have to agree with you there. In a perfect world, a line of air cooled engines, with a properly designed line of watercooled engines available optionally in the same body styles. Maybe a V-rod powered E-Glide in the future? Of course, once you go that far away from tradition, you might as well go buy a metric bike, and that makes me start to see cardboards point of view better... Guess that is where the marketing guys at HD are stuck trying to please everyone.

cardboard don't get it. You can still buy a new 14 with the 103 without the water cooled exhaust heads. People don't read sometimes they just read one thing and blurt out comments. Go back and read about the bike that BD bought.

The EPA is the one forcing Harley into all this, I dought if Harley all of a sudden made the choice to do this. But with the restrictions they are forced to do and that's making the engines run hotter then they have to look in other directions to make em run cooler. They can't just continue to build a motor the way CB and others want as times are changing boys and sometimes you gotta change with it or you can live in the past. You want the bikes to stay as they were then start protesting the EPA.
I suspect that eventually all the Harley will possibly have a fully water cooled motor to keep them running cooler.

Oh I get it alright. I can trade down from a Limited to a Plain Ultra.
    Not trading down.

    And I can go from a 107 motor to a 103 motor.
    NOT.
My 107 will run as good as a 110 motor if not better.

And I can go back to the EPA stuff on the motor.

HD has been pushing the EPA stuff for years trying to hope it will force hardships on other motorcycle companies.

first experience with my ABS just this afternoon. Road kill ahead, the car about a quarter mile ahead of me scared 2 Turkey Buzzards off, saw them heading back to the carcass, so slowed a bit, hit the horn, they went back in the air. I accelerated to get by them before they turned back around. Didn't see the 3rd one swooping in right in front of us. Hit the back brake hard. I heard a short squeal from the rear tire and the rear started to kick out just a bit, then I felt my foot pulsate a bit and the bike came back in line, we slowed quickly and safely, as the vulture passed maybe 15 feet in front of us. Too damn big a bird to hit for sure ! Loved my ABS today. Probably would have missed the bird and kept the bike up with regular brakes too, but any help is good help.

ABS is a great concept, it works well as designed as a great safety factor in the ( oh CRAP) panic grab of the brakes that can lay us down or worse. Just like the old saying the helmet strap broke his neck, most likely the impact would have done worse. this thread went a looooong way away from water cooled.

You do not have to believe Nothing.
Pull the Fuse for ABS and ride. You can see how it operates without the ABS working.

That would be kind of stupid, I really like the ABS brakes and they are a better braking system.

Got friends with 2012 Ultra's that DID NOT come with ABS.
If it was so fantastic why didn't they come with it.
Cause HD wants more money for it.

What else are they gonna come up with that we can't live without ?

Mabe we should recall all the bikes without it and put it on them.
OH wait. Their frame don't have the room for the ABS.

I've ridden without it, and I've ridden with it.
    Personally I don't like it.
