Good luck, hopefully it's just the oil pump that needs replacing. Look at the inside of the cases for unusal wear and check the play in the rods and crank. If they are tight and there's no slop or twist you may be good. Keep an eye out and try to determine where the aluminum in yer oil came from. That should tell the story and be the determining factor if you need just a rebuild or a new motor all together.
Let us know what you find.
    Thanks.

If yer rods are hanging through the engine case and the crank is broken, and your valves are bent then maybe you need a new motor.

60K on the bike, but it liked to break stuff
as a 116 it blew a rod through the cases, SNS warranty it
then came back from them as a new 116, only they didn't
locktight the balancer covers, ruined the cases, then it came back as a 124
actually I guess threetimes not four but it took a full year out of riding
my engine got more miles going to WI...

After that the 124 just liked to break tranny gears and trap doors and stuff LOL

what bearing is it that should be upgraded in the trans that every one is doing ? I'm putting the 6 speed gear kit that Ultima makes I got it a year a go and was going to put it in but when the engine went down I just saw no need to do it at that time , I had read that some of the guys had some leaking problems after they upgraded to this kit but the fix was a bearing up grade

mine pulled the mainshaft bearing through the trap door, the stock
HD trap is too weak, Replaced the door with a Jims billet door.

im sure youll find the cause a ate c. pin,rod bearings & cages.the result will be a junk pump, pistons & some other minor stuff.not really a big deal.make sure all lines are replaced & tank is flushed VERY good.we sonic clean the cases and all parts to get all debris out,but its really a fairly common prblem/rebuild,no need to replace the whole motor
