I know Victory has some good ideas, but I don't like how they go around bragging how much better they are when they have absolutely NO history. Harley did 100 years of developement and proven designs when Victory comes along and takes the easy route by copying a Harley. If it was the gov't, they'd call Victory counterfeiters and forgers.

I like the fact that Victory is an American brand, but they really pi$$ me off with their idiotic comparisons to a Harley that are ridiculous and completely false. They never invented ANYTHING new. All they've done is copy a successful proven product and made a few minor changes. They have no bragging rights at all, and I predict they will go the same way as Indian--a name with no substance or longevity.

Before you go too far. Know you know Victory is made by Bombardier
Bombardier has made Jets for many years. Got a buddy that is a jet Aircraft mechanic for Anadarko oil company. He told me about them many years ago.

They made the Seadoo which has been around for years.
They took the evinrude which went defunk on account of the Fitch motor and make the Etec.
    They make snow mobiles
The list goes on and on, and on.
They are a very well known company.

Sort of like Honda who makes portable generators, lawn mowers, weed whackers, cars and not just motorycles like Harley.

Yes I know about the French company Bombardier. They OWN Polaris and Victory--they aren't the same company--and their stock holders would sell it off quickly if sales expectations are not met. That is the way big comglomerates operate today.

H-D is not owned by anyone and never will be (I know this). Since H-D has had nearly 110 years of continuous operations, and Victory barely 10 years, who do you think will outlast whom? H-D has survived numerous world wars, 10 years of the Great Depression, many world economic crisis and foreign competitor invasions. They KNOW how to survive, and the word "tenacious" doesn't even come close.

By the way, snowmobiles and jet boats are not what I would consider reliable long-term machines.

    +1

And why unfortunately they had to let go of Buell and MV Augusta.

I mean this recent economical crunk that started oh back in late 2007 early 2008 has been devastating, it really has. Expendable cash dried up. HD was in a scramble just like every other luxury item company. Shares drop to near 7$(time to buy..I did) but have gotten back up to a respectable 35-42$ a share at times since since.

Around me Honda,Yamaha and Kawasaki dealrships are long gone. It really surprised me when the Honda dealer got gone. They had recently moved into a large and spacious brand new brick building.

I got one of those Husqvarna combo weed whacker inter changeable mini chain saw deals...real handy for those high spots on the trees around the house. And I have a 10" clearing saw that cuts down up to 5" saplings like weeds. And a 240 or 360 Husqvarna chain saw. I put that bad bot through its paces and she keeps on keeping on!

All I could git my wife to buy me is the small Husqvarna chain saw.
It is on its 2nd chain. Cuts wood great. Buddy went and got their weed eater.
He said its the best weed eater he's over owned.
Dude behind me used to own a lawn service.
He said commercial Huaqvarna stuff is the best stuff you can buy.
Said to keep a tiny amount of Sea Foam in the gas for them.

To all you boys who are so quick to jump ship for a new machine: how important was it for you to spend your hard-earned money buying into a legendary company that proved itself for over 100 years that they would still be around when you needed parts? Pretty easy wasn't it? Do you feel that same security spending big money on a Victory or an Indian?

As a veteran of cross country rides both east/west and north/south you can't beat HD's dealer net work or the priority they all make riders on the road. Thats a fact. Whether in Dodge city, Nashville,San Diego,Miami,Bangor or any other the other dealers I've used while on the road... I always called a ahead by a couple hours and always taken right in and right out. I was surprised how small and multi motorcycle dealership Dodge city was, I thought MOCO stopped allowing that.
