Victory is owned and built by Polaris, not Bombardier. Bombardier owns and builds Can-Am, Ski-Doo, Sea-Doo, and Evinrude, along with jets and high speed rail, and they build better stuff than Polaris.

    That is even worst............
Polaris made jet skis for a few years and they was so undependable and gave so many problems they quit making them.

Ask any Polaris dealer if their shop ever has a lack of repair work and they will tell you they have alot of work to do. Dealers and Indy's always have Polaris 4 wheelers and snowmobiles waiting to be repaired here where I live.

Sorry Lucifer. I thought the company was headquartered in France. I guess just the rail and transportation part is in France.

    Transport HQ is in Germany
    Transportation > About Transportation

    Aerospace HQ is in Canada

    Aerospace > About Aerospace

must have been some good money making Ski-Doos

They used to make subway cars in La Pocatiere Quebec. A lot of them went to the New York subway system. When they built light rail transit here in Calgary 30 odd years ago we wound up getting our cars from Siemens. Lots of French names in Bombardier, I can see where some would think they are a French firm. Getting back to the Victory..i'm not sold on them yet

It used to be a lot easier to say "I want a good American-made product". Today, American brand names don't tell you where they were made. I once owned a Ford that was made in Windsor, Canada........and a Honda that was made in Ohio.

Where ever it's made, I don't care for it. After watching the "infomercial" for Victory I have to concur with the poster who said they took a hundred year old classic Harley design and made some improvements. Ah, so what. The Victory has a vaguely "alien" look to it that I don't like.
With all the trouble I'm having with my '77 shovel I wouldn't trade it for a brand new Victory.

I remember looking at them at the International bike show in Seattle when they first came out. They kind of reminded me of a John Deer tractor' big and heavy iron but not very refined. They have come a long way sense then but to me they still don't have a real nice look to em. Arlin Ness came in and tried to give them a more distinctive look but screwed the look up even worse.
I see a lot of them not so much on the road but in the HD dealer after somebody traded it in on a Harley.

While checking the oil should be part of the daily ride pre-checks, I know of nobody that does it at ever stop. :wtf:

I looked at them a couple of years ago (on the web site) and looked again, I do see the prices are coming down on them, more in line with Harley. A few of the cruisers look ok, but the touring models look like crap, in my opinion. I guess I am not into that rounded space buggy look.

Everyone should do a pre-ride check which includes checking lots of areas besides just checking the oil.
What that idiot on the Victory uboob video said was that Harley riders need to check their oil at every gas stop.

Polaris is a very good American Company
All Victory bikes are made in the USA, plants in MN I believe
and they just expanded to make more.

It's a great bike, some ugly bits but we don't need
any more HD clones. the Victory cross country
is a very nice bike, competes with Ultra and Street glide.

Bigger engine, more power, more do dads bigger bags, bigger
tour pack, better trans... Costs less....

Uh-oh....I think HRK is getting ready to make the switch.

If you own a Victory, does it come with a book on how to bash Harleys? Looks to me like that's what Victory spends most of their time doing. Have you ever heard H-D say ANYTHING negative about a Victory? Shows you who has some class doesn't it.

This may sound crazy to some, but I never check my oil until it's time to change it (every 3,000 miles). If I don't see any drips under the motor or smoke while riding--it's good to go. My oil level never changes in 3,000 miles anyway.
