Yep, that is a nice bike. A lot of fine bikes this year.
I just can't part with my '99 FLHR, or I would be shopping for a new, 2018 Harley. I'd have to total it in a wreck before getting a new one, and I'd rather not!

I hear you. I committed to my 2015 ultral low but that sport glides got me thinking. Getting older and the sport glide looks more manageable. What to do,what to do.

Hey, BI you should get the softail and sell your 15 to RR.... LOL

I"m with you on the softail line, had a heritage and it was fun to ride, a lot lighter and lower, easier to back up, easier to handle over a 900 pound bagger.

I rode the new Heritage at Bike Week with a 114, it has serious power
and ran smooth, you do get a bit of the softail buzz that's built in, that
and the fact that they deleted the heel shifter were my two complaints.

If you don't ride super long distances and spend a lot of time on sub 300 mile
days then I'd say go for it.

RR don't go test ride a 17-18 because you'll want one, the power is better,
cooler engine, smoother ride, the new chassis (09 and up) is a major upgrade
over the pre 09 chassis, they handle 100 times better, the electronics are significantly improved with the can bus BCM system, less wires so less failure points.

Nothing wrong with the 99, but you will see a big difference in the technology, and the infotainment system is very good...

HRK..hmmmm i'm 61 and feel i have a couple more years of long distance, multiple day/week riding in me. Not sure when the cut off point is but its getting closer. But yeah the ultra will be the go to touring choice while riding long distance. Kind of excited when i'm done touring because the choices for non touring riding are crazy fantastic. More now than ever before.

I'm in the same boat, don't tour much so a big ol bagger
is overkill, when I rode the new Heritage it was like being
    on a real motorcycle again...

Really like the minimal fairing, sort of makes this bike a hybrid between a Fat Bob and dresser. Should be nice if not doing full 2-up tour riding.

Despite how much I like these new bikes, I'm actually going in the other direction right now. Just picked up shovelhead that I'm going to toy with for a while. Looking to take the "less is more" approach for a while. I'll post it up in a new thread.
