What's the draw of the Day Light kit??Prolly the same with the built in load equalizer...I think using your adapter harness and the jumper in the kit should work, just make sure the connections are very clean and greased(dielectric) to ward off corrosion and the resistance and voltage drop increase should be practically nil...I found an '04 harness schematic and diagrams...they still show only one connector for the headlight(same as yours)and is pretty much a standard head light connector,so I am a little baffled why HD stops the retrofit at '04 and the adapter harness(Y) was used until '06...How can you hook it up to an '06,'05 and '04 but not '03 and earlier:confused:
Speedo and tach connectors changed in '04,so you'd be getting deeper into it if you replaced the interconnect harness...
I'd say JB if you really want the Day light kit...go for it,then when you have all the parts in the same room,it would be a heck of a lot easier to see what would need to be done to make it work....

Other option would be to get a dealer to let you hook one up
to your bike and see if it works.

Was there any change in mounting points for pre 04 Road glides,
change in room behind fairing, I have no idea...

Maybe he'll have to run HID

:roflmao: I will have to do that. I just asked a parts manager buddy of mine if he would take some pictures of it for me. actually, maybe I will ask him to make a photocopy of the instructions. I feel bad to ask for that as I know I won't buy them from him.

    Here you go...

Note you have a center strengthing plate that must be mounted to the faring
in the middle of the lamps (17) you will have to drill one hole.

Also the three mounting points A, as long as you have them in the
same shape in the same place where the lower adjusting mount screws
clip into the faring with the green retention clips. (One upper)

Harness 20 is the dual harness that you would plug your jumper
into with the H4 connectors. the small wire coming off 20 is for international
models and you won't need it.

As long as all the mounting points match up then you should be fine.

Thanks dude, sorry that you went through scanning and posting this, I already have this. I appreciate it though. Now I do think that I have made the decision that I do want these bad enough so I am going to go through what I have to get them to work for my bike. I can't help it, I am a custom junkie. :roflmao: I had a good friend of mine that works for a dealership talk to his Master Tech today and he assured me, like you that they will plug right in. Just to let you know, it isn't that I didn't believe you, I was just trying to be thorough as these are a lot of coin for one to take such a huge gamble. Thanks again dude.

By the way, that pig tail that is for the International models, can I just cut that off without any adverse effects from doing so? Not a big deal that it there just curious is all. :D

I understand, dropping $700 for something you can't use is an issue
are you going to buy them locally? If so maybe they will let you connect them
to see if they work before buying...

You mean the small single wire coming off the new harness?

I suppose you could cut it off, they tell you to just leave it alone
it's not needed on US models. It really won't be in the way...

The other thing you could do if the issue is the faring itself IE
to do with mounting points is to sell your outer faring and buy a
new one for an 04 and up, I presume the mounting points haven't
    changed...

I found a part number for the 2010 outer fairing and it's still a 98 number...58733-98B and a 2011 inner is 58735-98D so no major changes since '98

A couple of changes were made in the mounting brackets to change the height and angle over the last few years from what I've found, but the fairings themselves are relatively unchanged

That's what I thought all the changes were in the angle.

The issue might not be can it fit but can he get proper aim
I know they changed the angle in 09 and once before so that
it tilts forward. My 09 had better light patter with HID than the 11
due to the increased tilt of the faring...

Man I don't know if I am going to buy locally or not. A part of me says to buy from Horny Toad because of the price difference that he can give me but another part of me says that I should buy from my buddy. I will deal with that then.

As far as the angle goes, yes, the angle of the fairing mounting bracket on the inside of the fairing changed in 04. That is where the difference is, not the headlight mechanics or electrics itself. This is where I may have to have a custom bracket made and then installed. I guess I am just at the point to where I don't care what it is that I have to do, I want them that badly and I will get it to work. :D

If that's the difference, you won't need to make a custom bracket...just pick up a set of '04 lower brackets and your good to go...

Not sure that I want to change the angle of my fairing really. I like where it is. I would rather change the bracket and retain the angle if I can.

The new angle improves air flow and the turbulance behind it
makes the ride better for you, I doubt you'd notice it's not that
    much of a change.

I'd put them on and make sure you get good light pattern
then worry about brackets later and buy the HD ones don't
waste bucks on something custom that already exists
you might have to get the lower brackets too if you change the inner faring
back bracket or it won't fit.
