The 7.3 Powerstroke made by INternational .
INternational motors are some of the best motors made.
Look at a lot of your delivery trucks. They have the T444 motor in them
    Thats the Powerstroke.
And there is a motor just a little bigger. I forgot the numbers on it.

    Sure they have some problems.
Cummings has had injectors to go bad. and other things.
They have designed the motor again.

Had a buddy that worked at a chevy dealership as a service writer.
The chevy duramax was breaking head bolts. And turbo chargers and injector pumps was going out.

If you try to make a race vehicle out of a diesel all of them will have a a short life.

Go find a 7.3 Powerstroke in a one ton truck and try to buy it.

The EPA quit puttin sulfur in the diesels. Sulfur lubricates the injectors.
The EPA wants to kill a lot of thing.
This is giving a lot of Older diesel motors problems.

The EPA made them quit puttin them in light duty trucks.

The 7.3 powerstroke was a bullet proof motor.
Yer buddy chucktx has one in his FORD.
Wonder how many problems he has had
I got one in my truck.

I would own a new cummings that does not rattle if you could put it in another truck.

And if Chevy gave back all the money the goverment gave them.
They are still 58% union owned.

I tried to drive Chevys as did some of the guys that worked for me.
A chevy just ain't a service vehicle. Too much in repairs

A ford will out work them.
I ran 3000 plus miles a month doing service calls.
Cranked the Powerstroke up in my 1 ton van and didn't cut it off till I came home at around 9:00 at nite from 7:30 in the mornin.
Its sittin outside and still runs good. I will not sell it.
    Can't buy another one.

If you like a Chevy go buy one.
Like I said got a buddy that is a Diesel mechanic on a ship.
He was lookin for a truck in 2010.
I said go and test drive a Ford. He went and drove a Chevy, and bought one.
He had front end problems that you couldn't believe. And the dealership kept telling him there was no problems
His truck was stallin and would bearly run.
He took it to the dealership and they said there's nothing wrong with it.
He was trying to drive it from Texas to Lousiana where he worked.
Couldn't make it back and forth to work
    He Just sold it.
Said he will never own another new chevy.
The dude I work with has a 08 and still has a warranty on it.
It stays in the shop. He is a DIE HARD Chevy dude.
His service truck is a Ford with over 225,000 0n it.
    He hates fords.

CB, you shore can go on. I got buddies to and many say they will never own a Power stroke again. My 07 Dodge Diesel will do circles around your Power stroke :roflmao: wanna race :D Man please we could all go on and on as to who has the biggest and baddest truck. I thought that test was very interesting and it was done under the watchful eye of an independent firm. Don't matter, when your rear quarter panel buckles and you get stuck Cowboy or I will come over and pull you out.:D

ya ole cardboard the 7.3 is the best power stroke ford has ever used , but when they stop useing it & went to that pos 6.0 it brakes all the time ,It's hard to find a good used ford with the 7.3 cause people are smart & buying them back cause they had a 6.0 & dumped the trouble on someone else  just like the newer cummines 6.7 i think it's a dog untill you change , diconect a couple things , my old 5.9 still gets 20-24 mpg depends how i put my foot down :D my son says the new ford 2011-12 gets the best mpg out of all top three diesels ,the durmax has come a long way since it first came out , had a saleman back then show me a line of a bout 25 trucks new back then durmax # 8 cyl out of all then he said told us go look at dodge or ford , & that was his liveing he sent down the road , now the durmax is doing good , I'll keep on 01 dodge

Interesting analogy there Cowboy my 07 Dodge gets over 20 MPG to and the torque is way better than the earlier models. I really like it but I don't like spending 429.9 a gal for diesel.

My grandfather ran dump trucks from 30's ti late 70's when he passed in

Every one a ford and one gmc. Gm was always in shop. Fords ran 100% for forty years made his living in the dependability.

I'm referring to the 7.3 made by international
I used to build tractor trailers when I was younger
My grand dad was a long hauler with tractors
The bigger diesels are build to do different things
And you have to look at repair cost over the long run
    Cummings makes a good engine
The problem is its in a dodge
The truck will not hold up as a service vehicle
    And The clacky clack Cummings
    I can't listen to them
Know they ate popular on the ranches

Look at this Cowboy, it's a history of the power stroke. Plus a chart showing HP and torque for all the years. Pulled a 35 foot 5th wheel with ease.
Mine is the new motor with 610 pounds of torque and 350 HP. I also have the new 6 speed tranny and have never had a issue with it. It is incredible how much pulling power it has. The new ones are claiming 800 pounds of torque.

Cummins 5.9 liter and 6.7 liter inline six-cylinder diesel engines

    Google the cummings 6.7
A lot of folks complainin you can't work them and let them idle. They are not made to idle
And about suttin up and poor fuel milage.
All motors has problems to one extent or another.

:wtf::banghead: what do you think I been driving for 5 years now. No problems with it, great fuel economy, super power. There are always people who complain about everything. I wouldn't trade my truck for my friends Power Stroke that he has had in the shop multiple times.
My diesel is great and also runs very quiet.

Don't have a job or the money coming in that would pay for a Dodge diesel or any other truck.
It will just sit in the yard like the 2 diesels I have now cause I can't afford to put fuel in them.
I bought a new bike. I ride it more than anything.
And with the price of fuel, everybody should stop buying anything.
Hide your money in the bank.
If diesel fuel and gas needs to be as high as they have it. Let them keep it.
As long as we don't scream and they keep going up, they will continue to go up on fuel.
They say fuel is 10.00 a gallon like in England.
I don't live in England and will never go.
Don't care what it is there.

They need to go ahead and make it 25.00 a gallon.
Then we can't buy it. only the rich can git it.
Economy will stop and China can come on over and take over.

How did we ever make it last year with Regular 2.38 a gallon.
The gas companies musta been giving it away.
    Something has to change .

Some of you seem to have forgotten that way back in '85 when H-D was about bankrupt, they somehow got the gov't to put a huge import duty on Japanese bikes over 700cc so that Harley could stay in business. That lasted for 3 years until H-D requested it to be removed because so many complained about unfair competition. That was a gov't bailout too, and H-D was, and still is a union company. So what?

Did that stop anyone from buying a Harley cuz they got gov't bailout? GM paid back the gov't loan in 6 months.....6 months ahead of schedule.

Same story with Chrysler in early 80's, but today everyone wants to bash GM for doing what Chrysler and H-D did. How about bashing those stinking f@#$%^ banks that lied and cheated every taxpayer in this country, and will NEVER pay it back. If you have anger issues over gov't bailouts, better include ALL the rascals in your rant. At least GM paid it back.

You know Alex these guys here just like to bitch. If they had a Chevy and liked it the story would be reversed. Look also at GM they are now back on top ahead of the Toy company. I bought my Dosge before all this stuff happened. The original intent of this was not to start a bashing war but just some interesting facts backed up by a third party that was and is not a part of GM. GM is on the move again, better watch out you Ford (maddog) drivers. :D:D:)
