I didn't know they could be so costly. But you definitely got a good deal. For the life of me, I can't understand why a light would be over $500. Oughta be able to see into the next county for that LOL.

Well for one thing you're buying new tech when you get the LED lamps
and there is more than a single filament h4 bulb in the unit.

As we age the light receptors in our eyes decrease in ability to
see at night, so we need all the advantage we can get, for me
I'd rather drop $500 + on the LED than a new chrome exhaust
or some doo dad that does nothing to improve the bike because
it makes it safer for me to ride.

We do a lot of night riding here in FL, and during the day the LED's
on High beam are very visible. So all those old farts from Lawng Ahaland Nooo Yawk
can see us riding while they pilot those old buicks down the two lanes, bloo hair an all

That bulb is a big improvement over the sealed beam Josh, the technology is in the
reflector and it's ability to focus the light in a better pattern.

You know the worst car to be near is a Buick with a AAA decal on the bumper!

Yeah, but $550? Don't you think that's a bit overpriced? I could get two new Avons, installed, and three nights at motel 6 for less :D. Oh, well, to each his own. I like the old tech soft spotlight effect of the sealed beams.

I remember one night a long time ago when I was is southern Florida traveling west to east. Lots of bug clusters. The road was swamp on both sides and there were snakes & frogs all over it. I slowed down and ran over a bunch of 'em. I wasn't about to stop!

Actually my Daymaker from Surdyke was $424 + shipping, and my bike came stock with that Halogen light, and at night I had a hard time seeing the holes in the road (we get alot of em over here). I can see just fine now and I would have paid double that if needed. I wouldn't want to put a price on mine or my passengers saftey. About the only problem I have with the LED is now I am spoiled. I will never be able to comfortably run a factory light again...maybe a HID set up...I don't know. Never had one so I can't compare it to the LED. I only have the Headlamp..I'm still running factory spots, I don't know how much difference there would be if I added the LED spots, and also I think I would like to hold something in reserve in case my night vision gets worse I can always add the spots later.

    Aloha....Mike

I recently installed a trucklite led headlamp, and the difference is huge. Low has a very wide spread, and highbeam adds a bright spot right in the middle way up ahead. I have a nice aftermarket headlamp on my shovelhead, but high doesn't come close to the led.beam. Have'nt had a high beam flashed at me yet. Whether is a halogen, hid,led or whatever, buy the best light you can afford. Ride safe.
