I've used 81 to western VA a few times. Very enjoyable especially compared to I95.

Didn't get out the door till 7:30. Made it to Scranton,PA by 1:30. Started raining 27 miles east of Scranton and ended up riding in torrential rain 100miles, stopping in Frackville,PA at 3pm for the day instead of Hagerstown for a total of 400 miles. 130 shy of the goal.

Nothing a hot meal at the Cracker Barrell can't fix(which luckily is in the same parking lot as the Holiday Inn).

    Tired.

78 is good too. I take it to and from 95 / NJTurnpk out to 81 south. I would think you would avoid the NYC area if you can at all costs. I can't.

B.I., you're going to be down here for a nice dry spell, although temps will be cooler than average for this time of year. Maybe we can hook up somewhere. I have to work, so probably can't get away for long.

All glory to God....Here! 557 miles. Left at 7:30 got here at 4:38ish.

Was always out running one storm cell or another getting drizzled on. Hit I-64 and ran hard for the Carolina blue skies. Never really got rained on other then the drizzles. Once in Virginia 80-85 mph the rest of the way.

Must have been a Warlocks MC GATHER,SAW PACKS OF THEm EVER WHERE. ONE WITH HIS GF RODE WITH ME FOR ABOUT 80 miles. I turned to I-64 and he stayed on 81. He waved "bye" and that was that.

Resting up for 3 days then heading home.

Getting ready to go for a motorcycle ride with grampy. His helmet belonged to my mother his great grandmother when she rode back in the 50's. Its a GENO helmet.

The helmet is a metal shell with a leather adjustable inner deal. Made to last forever. Today they recommend getting a new one every 2 years or somthing like that
