Yes but there are other sources, Kuryakyn, etc,

To do what I was talking about you need the new lens (housing) which allows you to replace the inner bulb without having to replace the sealed beam unit.

While it seems expensive, in the long run the extra light (at least double) especially on those dark two laner's is well worth the money.

Jenny at Fairfield, Ohio, Harley-Davidson, Motorcycle, Dealer, Used, Parts, Acccessories, Apparel has been selling hd parts and aftermarket on the net on a lot of boards especially HTT for years and has a stellar reputation. Call her with the PN and you'll get 20% off the top plus no sales tax and her shipping is always reasonable, they don't add huge "shipping fees". She's got a huge database of customers.

The reason I prefer the other bulb (non sealed) is that you get better light and you can carry a spare in your bags in a camera film canister, so if you blow a light at 11:30 at night, all you need is a phillips and a minute to change it out.

The $8 is good, but the Silverstar, is way better

i would like to recomend an option. i put a candlepower headlight in my bike. in the j&p catalog it sells for $39.00. it comes in both sizes,5 3/4 and 7 inch. it is a replacement lense with a replaceable bulb. the front of lense is flat, the way they cut the facets into the lense puts more light out front, not up in the trees and down around your toes. on low beam it also has a spot that is projected up and too the right , so you can better see people on the side of the street. i really like mine. they also list a $69.00 version, supposed to be 40% whiter, and more light on the road.

I'll check all those. I'm actually really happy with the one I got. I've never been able to see so well at night. What a difference. The beam looks like a huge cross moving in front of me, so it's not only functional, but somewhat comforting as well. :)

I like riding at night a lot more now. I wish I'd done that years ago.

Next one I get will be the newer HD lens, it has a great pattern and with the high output bulb in it the light is very white and bright and wide pattern. Better than the Kuryakyn one I have...

I run the bar& shield style from the newer HD's on my 03 work's real good out here on the back roads with no street lights for miles , I also reversed my T signals & spot light , & have them tilted back a bit to light up the road & not the air in front of me , it also put my T signals where cars can see them up high
