I am waiting on Steve to give me a price on a delay relay, to delay starting the hid for 10 seconds after starting the bike I want to go with the dual halogen setup and then get the HID kit from Steve at xenon depot. With that setup both bulbs are on and when you go to start it up it cuts power and that constitutes a hot restart which Steve said is not very good for the ballast, HRK what did you do, do you start it on high and then switch over to low on the HID otherwise I will have to rigg up some sort of switch to shut it off until thge bike is running, Todd

I hadnt thought about it, figure cars start everyday with them, I'll ask him about the Relay as well.

I have two ballasts, one goes to the hot wire running to the lighter plug
the other off the orange and white in the light harness, only one of my lights flashes off during the start, maybe that is why.

You could run your ballast off a non cut power wire such as the orange and white feed I suppose so the ballast always has power once the ignition is activated.

Well, I finally got around to installing my HID light, I ended up going with a HID Extreme 4300k motorcycle kit from Xenon Depot, I ordered a dual beam halogen lens from Harley which is made by JW speaker and is designed for HID lights which is the same one that HD uses in their HID kit, so I ordered a H11 kit, I cannot believe what a difference this made, it is unbelievable, look at the attached pictures, and count the median dotted lines, you can see how much farther the HID shines, I took these pictures with my cell phone because it is the only camera I have without an automatic flash so the pictures really dont do this kit justice but you get the jist of it

This is my new HID setup on high, on high the low beam HID and the high beam halogen h8 are both lit up, notice the halogen h8 hardly makes any difference

I realize these kits are expensive but I think they are much safer for night driving, I wish I would have done this years ago, Todd

    Glad you got it installed
Yep they make big big difference, the pictures show plenty but I doubt they
pick up the total light difference that you really see...
