I'm doped up but wasn't the Tour Glide the predecessor to the Road Glide? I think it was out before the full factory dressed Goldwing.

The 75-76 Goldwing was actually first. They were ugly back then for sure.

Sorry I'm talking about Factory bagger. I had 78 Gold wing. I think the full boat gold wings were 1980.

Yes the first factory full dress with that fixed fairing was in 1980 as the 1100 Goldwing, came out in the fall of 1979. Had one and hated the fixed fairing as I do on the new Harleys. I really feel the fixed fairing is heavier than the batwing fairing. Sorry Johnny just never warmed up to the Shark nose.
This was just like the one I had including color bought it used.

Nice. Mine had the Vetter windjammer and his bags and trunk. All black gold pinstripes I loved it.

Hey jb. Yeah the one one the other side was even nice. That was the Leominster, mass HD.
As long as the road surface is good the equipment is there. I've ridden in 25 degrees. Ff flip helmet, gauntlet gloves, touring pants and jacket with liner and I'm good.

It was great to put the new bike thru the paces. Suspension was excellent. Went over many a shit road and interstate. Was a couple places I don't think any bikes suspension would have done any better.

    Road maybe 500+ miles.

The 1100 Goldwing with the shark nose fairing came out also in late 79 as the 80 model so looks like they were at the same time. :p
