In talking with the bike builder, engine builder and head tuner Mike Stegman
the newer bikes with the additional oil cooling the oil does get hotter. The 110 as on my bike comes standard with a oil cooler. I also know where the CAT is installed in the header pipe on the newer bikes that it does in fact help in raising the oil temp. After removing the CAT from my bike my oil temp dropped almost 20 degrees. Just look where it's located, it's no wonder.

ya what were they thinking of putting the cat there ? not only that but when the motor runs lean . even at 14.7 in cages the converter temps run up around 700 - 800 f in cages! never took a reading on a bike but now i kinda would like to know . how hot those little converters are getting . all the cop bikes down here the right side pipe is cooked blue and purple!

Anything over 85 to me is not fun anymore...A few weeks ago we were out on the turnpike at about 97...Degrees not mph...Thought I was riding in the oven...Had 1 beer when I got home and had to take a nap...LOL...Guess I am getting old...

When I was down in Vegas in May this year I'll bet that Cat was 700 plus, god that thing was friggen cooking my boot and melting the heel to the floor board.

Marc55 I'm a Westerner from Oregon, what is a turnpike?? I rode back to D.C. Last year with some friends and don't remember seeing a turnpike? Just some mega traffic jams that made me long for home.
