The 1500 wings all had integrated brakes don't know if the 1800 wings kept the integrated brakes or moved to ABS when they came out.

My friend Willie rides an older Goldwing and wouldn't ride anything else, he says. He looked escance at my bobber the first time he saw it, but I think it's growing on him. He's one of those fellas that thinks anyone who rides a chopped bike is a low life. I am helping him to change this perception . . .

Most Goldwinger's I know have a I'm better than you type attitude and look down on Harley Riders. I don't ride with most of em anymore, can't stand their attitudes.

My favorite gold vinger encouters was the guy on a full black one that tried to outrun
my Heritage over the 417 bridge. It was funny as heck when I pulled past him, his throttle all the way open he just looked over at me and watched the softail roar past, cigar in mouth, one hand on throttle, other just waved....

Second was coming back from Daytona on I-4 at night, I was rolling hard, guy pulled in front on a valkarie, running about 75, as I came up he wouldn't move over but kept accelerating to get away, problem is he couldn't LOL finally he gets over after going up to 120 and I just cruised by. Guy never thought a softail would run like that.

had a lot of fun with sport bikes too...

I ride with a mixed bag of makes and models. And the joshing while annoying at times, comes with that. When I was a ride with HD only guy that never was an issue. And this Sportsters are girls bike stuff is new too.

I ride a lot of curves here in Mtns, only 2 hours to Deals Gap, but that is a bit intense for me as well...

It doesn't take much to scrape floor boards or mufflers on a big fat Goldwing.

In all honesty, how reliably over all was that bike being 124 inch's or was that part of the reason it got gone?

That was the reason I sold it, went through a couple of Trans
and didn't want to drop another $3K into a baker....

In retrospect that would have been the thing to do considering
the money I put into it over 10 years I had it..

Engine was very reliable as was everything else the tranny was the
    weak link...

I'll probably look for a used one, maybe a fatboy with the big rear tire
and convert it to a heritage look with a big inch engine..
