    Yea what gets me is many times home buyers try and jew me down in price cause they have been price shopping with other inspectors and when you agree on a price and then do the inspection, :rolleyes: they give you a credit card:angry:

    Some of the indy's here will ask how you plan to pay then they give you the price. I knida like that. Both parties can save a few bucks that way.:D

    I just got a call from a dude from India who is buying a expensive home in a very nice area in Portland. First thing out of his mouth...how much of a discount can you give me..:gah::cussing: I said what part of the inspection would you like me to cut out. :D Their buying a 700,000 dollar home and expect you to give them a discount :rolleyes:

    It's like that with artists. People want me to paint, say, a landscape. They say: What do you charge per hour, like I'm some kind of a farm hand. I say: I charge per painting and my rates start at $500 and up. Usually, if I see they're like that, I'll quote my minumum at $750. They look at me like I'm crazy and say: You might have gotten that in California, but nobody's gonna pay that around here. I say: Well, for about $20 you can buy a print at Wal-Mart and it's already framed, too. Nice talking to ya.

    You could tell folks that your base charge is X% of the value of the home and go (up) from there.

    The India dudes would then say well how about a 25% discount. They really would do that. What I have done now is I have a paid ad Online with Home Inspections USA and offer a 10.00 coupon if they mention the ad. Ten bucks is better than 50.00

    ya it 's $40 better , , When I still had my trucks I had a custmer from mexico I hauld a lot for him both down to the boarder & back up , & ! time he call & wanted me to haul the load to mex city , for a little extra ,I tile him he did't have enough money for me to take my truck across the bridge he tried all kinda of way to convince me , he had to fnd another truck to haul all his load s after that , & back then you could cross over & not worry

    Crossed the bridge once while I was stationed in Texas. Don't know as I'm in any hurry to go back either.
