Your very right, people move away from here to and seem to come back. It's where you have your roots I guess. When I came back from Nam I came home in December and could not get used to the cold that first winter. By the second winter It all felt normal. I really like the four seasons we get. The fall here is very beautiful. I used to do cross country skiing in the winter up in the mountains and really loved it but to old now.

All big American cities are very dangerous places. I stay out of ALL of them.

Pretty similar to here. 4 distinct seasons, enjoy that. We have winter, but it is short. Fall is outstanding, color beautiful. Don't think I'll likely leave here. If I had to, would work my way back....

worse TX is the ice capital, too far south for good snow
far enough into the jet stream for ice cold air

It can snow here and by the time it hits the ground its gone.
I'm 125 miles from the Gulf of Mexico dude.
It does good if it ever even snows.
I'm far enough south I miss the snow.

Been here 28 yrs. We have had snow on the ground for a few hours about 3 times and it wasn't enough to cover the grass.
    Give me a break.
Chucktx lives in a low lying swamp area. It might cool off there a little more.
Anyway Chucktx prayed for the Snow. He likes it.

If there was some way in Hell I'd even visit up north.
Little Johnny would pack up and leave.

I've never been out of the south man. I turn 62 next month.
You think I might change my ways or something.:cussing:

You live in a very low lying area. I've never seen it like that.

And if I do my bike will not be out in it

I hate snow. So does my bike.
