So far the responses have been very positive, but I'm going to give it at least another day in case anyone has any objections or questions. Hopefully by next week if all is a go then things can begin to migrate.

If we're not, we ought to be. I'll be glad to help but it would seem the person running this thing should know a little about the business. I can't imagine we'll find anyone with the experience this guy has. Since no one else is stepping up, I don't see where we have much choice but to give it a try. CD's request ought to be a top priority in my book.

I'm a new kid on the block here, but it seems like this is finally headed to a solution that most approve of. You've got my vote.

sorry about missing all the hubub been getin my asss to a warmer climate 23under the merc-mark when i left the house 75 in santa mariea though anyway after reading the comments and cecking out the demo site it looks to be a good move especialy with cd's blessing, one thing i did notice though is there are more/diff catagories that said the reason I dont care for other sites is there are to many catagories meaning a sheetload of undesirables causing a lot of moderator nightmares and out the window goes the personal friendship experiance cd had by the limitation of catagories. and thanx chuck for getting the info to us.

the way i read kens msg's and post is the board you see is a demo board....i feel that once the move is finalized, we, the members of this board can input what transpires on the new board. i think what ken did was just show us what can be done, that dummy board is not a final. once the move is finalized, and cd has to be included in this move as he has the keys to this board, then we input what we would like to see. those are my thoughts...

    decision lets go

A while back we had a post concerning the use of the term BRO. go back and read over it. I've known CD and rode with him a few years now and he fills the boots. Lets keep this site going for the man he is and the biker he represents, as well as the good info that has pasted on Bike Talk. Dutch

I agree that this looks like the answer to all our hopes of keeping a great site going. There has been a lot of talk of stepping up, helping out, etc, but this is the first SOLID offer. Here's hoping it happens.

Hang tough CD. Hope we get to hear from you occasionally. Keeping you in the prayers.

OK, I to am in. I would also volunteer to be a moderator. Man there has not been so many posts here for a long time. So, when do we make the move?

    One Major Question

I do have one major question.... as Ken has stepped up to the plate (THANKS KEN!!!) it has become a question to me.... we are not using (probably) the same company that CD used for HIS web hosting. This then is the question that I pose....

WILL CD's web hoster leave an auto forward for the new web site for Bike Talk?

IF NOT: Ken, before this move happens, will need to make it REAL clear (maybe even for a few day of keeping BOTH sites open) to make the transition. Just a thought. I just don'w want to loose people in the move. Also don't want to make re-finding Bike Talk overly difficult.

This is my only concern and question. Otherwise, ROCK ON!!! let me know what I can do to help...I'll try to accomplish anything that would be of service to the forum and group.

Working on getting a redirect from the old host, but first need to get all of the posts and users exported.

I'll let everyone know as things progess.
