I bought the black (used) powdercoated one that has been on ebay forever. It even comes with the teardrop shaped soft bag that goes inside. Guy knocked $25 off the price. I think I can squeeze it in under the frame rail on the right side. Here's some pics with both the new Firestones on. Bike handles better in the curves.

Heh..I don't think there's enough booze on the island to get to the point where I'd consider putting that on....Doesn't look like a tartan to me anyway...more like a *** lumberjack jacket....

Your bike is looking better all the time. The tires look flat across the top like a car tire. How's it handle in the curves.

The tires are actually rounder than the Avons I had, especially the rear tire. They handle fine. I think the rubber is a bit harder on these.

20141101_1 (640x480).jpg 20141101_2 (640x480).jpg Here's a few pics of my "new" tool box. I made a backing plate which attaches to the back of the box with 3 bolts. The plate will get welded to a mounting bracket I'm ordering from J&P.

The box will be mounted between the top and bottom rails behind the oil bag on the right side of the bike. I'm thinking this may be the last "improvement" for awhile . . .

Those smooth boxes are getting harder to find. The finned ones are everywhere and actually cost less.

Decided to save myself $30 and fab my own bracket for the tool box. Another advantage would be that I can inset the tool box an extra 1 5/8" so it won't stick out so far. The bracket is very simple: 1 1/2" wide x 1/8" thick and made of 5 pieces counting the gussets.

Plus the satisfaction of being able to do it yourself and the way you want it.

20141108_1 (640x480).jpg 20141108_2 (640x480).jpg The tool box is on the bike. I just need to do a little bondo work and painting around the welds and it will be finished.

I think so, too. Now the tools will stay dryer and will be easier to get to. This morning around 10 a.m. I will head out to church on the scooter. It will be chilly, but should be doable, as it will probably be in the mid 50s by then. It's a solid 40 mile ride each way. Brrr! Mac the Wife is going to Mebane, N.C. this morning to visit her adopted Caracal at the Conservator's Center. That voyage is nearly 3 hours each way. See how crazy we are?

I would be looking for the snow to thaw out. And have every thing in the house packed ready to move.

did I ever say I hate snow.

With that much snow I wouldn't leave the house as long as I had food and a heater and TV.
    Little on go outside.

Both the OL and me got a new FXRG jacket in like 2006. They cost 700.00 each.
We still got them. and we have enjoyed the heck out of them since them.
    Couldn't imagine not having them.
I put some leather care on them made by Lexol every year.

They still look brand new too.

I don't like being cold and don't like being wet.
They keep the wind out and the rain out.
Couldn't ask for a better leather jacket.
Unless you gain a lot of weight. If you take care of a leather jacket.
It will last you 20 yrs easily.
Can't explain it to you till you've owned one.

I will be getting a leather jacket from LeatherUp. My Christmas present to myself. Mostly doing this so I can ride more often this winter. I had been searching the web for a used one in my size, but no luck there.
