Ha! You remember the flying pig!

Oh, I am a BIG fan of vanilla ice cream. And root beer floats. Enough sugar in both to last me a month :D.

Well, I got a tank sealing kit for $50 (credit) from Tattoo this morning. It lists for $79 and he let me have it cheap. I will commence to do the inside of the tank as soon as I get off-line. It will have plenty of time to cure before I get the petcock middle of next week. Next time I ride, I'll be sportin' a new tank and a new cam cover . . .

I remember vanilla ice cream and Canada Dry ginger ale make a pretty mean float too, but likely only Lucifer can relate the the Canada Dry ginger ale. Have not had one since I was a kid. Might have to put something together this weekend for the daughter. Yeah, for the daughter...

I drink Canada Dry for years but I would never think to put vanilla ice cream in it , yech! JMO
But, seltzer water, Ubet chocolate syrup, and a ball of vanilla or chocolate ice cream, (soda float) or no ice cream but a splash of cream (eggless egg cream). Mmmmmmm!

Making me hungry - but getting back to the subject - the tank is sealed and is curing now. Will have to do a little more sanding and painting and then I'll permanently attach it to the frame. I'm using pieces of an old leather belt to isolate the tank from the frame.

it is odd how conversations on this forum seem to end up meal or dessert related after starting somewhere totally different. Ginger ale and vanilla make good floats, try it, you might like it! Especially with some butterscotch syrup on top.

Okay, but I draw the line with butterscotch syrup .

It says on the directions that came with the seal kit to let the stuff cure at least 4 days . . . by that time there will be significant drops in the mercury here.

20131107_4 (640x480).jpg This is what Tattoo has been building for a customer, pretty much from scratch. It's still in the mock up stage . . . can you see a 300 lb. guy on this bike? LOL
The bike will have controls hand made by Tattoo. I've seen them and they are very nice. The battery is tucked away inside the horseshoe oil bag and is smaller than a 6 volt flashlight battery. The frame is painted with truck bed liner paint. He's building it exactly the way the customer wants it.

Heh, something tells me the guy will be back looking for a different seat after some miles...:)

That's funny, 'cause I had the same thought. Tattoo made the seat pan, too, out of fiberglass with a steel insert. But I think the guy just wants to profile with it and show off, not put serious miles on it. His other bike is a fairly new RG.

Be kinda hard to profile and show off when your spine gets rocked with a bump or pot hole:rolleyes:...But...the customer is always right;)

Yup. That style of bike is fairly common around here: white walls, Sporty tank, rigid frame, apes. I see a lot of 'em . . . and always younger guys riding 'em.

saw a 300 pound guy riding one of those a few years back at Daytona,

It was hilarious, it looked like his ass had become the rear fender and that the tire was up in the crack of his butt, not cool.

Bike looked cool sitting in the parking lot but not with him riding it...

I have my new gas tank mounted on the bike. All the filling & sanding & painting is done. The inside is still curing.

I must run the fuel line between the cylinders again. Is there a good product out there to protect the fuel line and also help prevent vaporlock? Reason I ask is because I had used a high temp cloth looking material to sheath the old fuel line. It would keep the fuel line from melting but I would still get vaporlock once in a while on really hot days when sitting at traffic lights.

I also consulted with the shovel forum riders about fuel lines and one fella says it's normal for the hose to contact one or both of the cylinders and to just use regular fuel line. Another guy runs his fuel line between the cylinders and claims he hasn't ever had vapor lock since the 70s.

I've been running regular fuel line since I first got my sickle on the road and have had vapor lock 3 times in two riding seasons - always in traffic and always at a long stoplight on a hot day. And my fuel line has a high temp sheathing around it. WTH?

I have heard about Gates Low Permeation gas line. What does "low permeation" mean? Line is only $6 for two feet of it, but will it help eliminate vapor lock?

Permeation is the process of a liquid, vapor, or gas going through a solid(the fuel hose)so I guess that means the hose you looking at only leaks a little
