20131119_1 (640x480).jpg :D. Okay. Paul, The last thing I'll say on the subject is that your work looks absolutely stellar, brother.

As is wont on my threads, I like to sometimes switch gears. Yesterday I ordered an extended clutch release arm and heim joint from FabKevin so I can finish installing my suicide clutch/jockey shift setup. I had already fabbed up a cool shifter (see pic) out of a base plate from Kevin (which I modified), a 3/8" dia. steel rod, and a 1930s metal door knob salvaged from my house when I was remodeling it.

We've already been through all the pros & cons about this, but I just wanted to try it and see how it operates. If I don't like it, I can always switch back to foot shift/hand clutch. Not burning any bridges here.

I guess ya'll can see I like black paint ;).

I enjoy working on mine too, hanging out in the shop designing and fabricating the little pieces, like a fork stop, top motor mount, exhaust and brake tee mounts, kickstand rubber mount, kickstand rubber, fender spacers, fender brace, fender chopping, frame chopping, etc., etc. But ultimately I must drag certain things to a welder or a machine shop for stuff I can't do with my limited inventory of tools. I'm gradually adding a tool here and there to make things easier.

The right tool for the job makes all the difference in the world :).

Way cheaper and far more fun. I think shrinks get around $200 an hour. And mostly they just sit and listen . . .

Thought I'd mention that Tattoo gave me a great idea yesterday concerning the suicide clutch/jockey shift.
He said to add a kill switch on the bars, which I don't have. I have one of those old style horn buttons which I will install on the left side of the handlebars near the grip. He says I can run one wire straight to the coil. I will run the wire inside the bars & back bone and exit near the coil - nearly invisible.

If the button is grounded to the bars would this set up work?

Why not just interrupt the power circuit with a momentary switch small push button .? Now your not grounding the coils energy

Find a normally closed push button switch.
