I'm alive! Well we just got power back and it's just after we trashed food from 2 refrig's and freezers. Oh well, at least they are cleaned out. Spent half yesterday and all day today cleaning up the yard. Had to chainsaw two oaks and rake a bunch. There are still alot of people without power. We got hit with waht they are calling a weak #1. I'd hate to see a 3. Apparently NYC really got lucky this time. Since we were on the East side we got all the winds and surge, the west side got tons of rain, we barely got any.
I hope Joshbob is ok. Frankly if he is without power (like what happened to me) he probably can't get on line with us.

Yep thats the MO of the 1 trees power, food loss
btw your HO insurance might pay to replace the food
and other losses, get the roof checked for wind damage
    by an independent roofer

Stack up the oaks, winters coming

Might pick up a portable generator and get it
setup for quick connect to the house

Hondas are quiet, you don't need to run the 220 stuff
just the fridge, freezer and lights and fans

Harbor Freight has a 7 HP 3500 max watt gen on sale for 279.99:) Don't know if there any good, says reg price is 449.00. No wheels on it but that could easily be remedied.

Went out on the scooter today. Did about 60 miles. Risked my life at every traffic light and in between. Lots of down Locusts and Maples. Took wires and poles with them. Every traffic light for about 20 miles was out causing a free-for-all at the intersections. I live in the land of A-holes! After a while I just picked up the interstate for a safe but boring ride home to safety. Glad to see JoshBob back! Hey Texans, their saying your gonna get a storm real soon! I hope ya get ya rain!

The ground is so dry and hard by now in Texas the water would probably simply roll off the top and back into the ocean. :D

Wha da fook lang'age them guys speakin,
    that accent don't sound right...

BTW you can always tell the numb nuts
walking through flood water's not a bright
Idea unless you have to, stuff gets washed down the streets
you can step on boards with nails, rusty metal
plus it's full of raw sewage so you are basically
walking in a full size toilet fulla turds and piss, kinda like
    the subway in Manhattan LOL

We were joking that it'd be great if the water got into the
streets of the city, cleaned them up, filled up the subway,
just pour some industrial soap into the place and wash it
out, then again it'd probably kill all the fishing for miles...
