I barely go there. I log in about once every six days but usually don't post much.

I got them, they are a massive improvement in fact I'd suggest them to FLHT as well
probably the best money you can spend on the bike,

contact John at Horny Toad HD in TX let him know you are on the RG forum
and he'll hook you up at a good price.

You have no idea how much you are missing
and riding those mountain roads, these will be a godsend...

I was riding home in the rain last week, dark wet streets
and I picked up a opossum on the right side way before
I would have ever seen it before, enough so that I could slow down and
watch the sumbytch trot right across in front of me...

    Those are the LED lights
I guarantee nothing you put in the
stock light housing HID, any replacement
isn't as bright, and the daymakers put out
a flat white wide beam I swear I saw flowers
blooming the other night on the way home

How bad is it towards on coming traffic, is it going to blind them and don't say you don't care cause I wouldn't want one of them hitting me head on due to being blinded by excessive light.

If you take the time after upgrading lights to aim them properly they shouldn't bother oncoming traffic...the problem with the super bright lights is when people put them on (any vehicle) they don't bother to adjust the beam and then blind oncoming traffic...

While That is very true I have seen some on cars that are so bright even on low beam that they blind you and they are adjusted correctly it just they are to bright. My SE headlight works great no need to upgrade.

You need more side light when they are on bright, wire your spots to stay on when you turn the brights on.

That's exactly what I'm saying...on low beams I've been blinded...and it's because they just replaced OE bulbs with super bright ones and didn't readjust the headlight bucket...I've also passed vehicles with the same(blue)lights on low beam and didn't bother me at all, because the owner adjusted his headlight after installing the bright lights...
Most places it's illegal to run auxiliary lights(spots)with your hi-beam on...

I've run the spots on hi beam for years. It's legal here for motorcycles but not cars unless the weather requires it but most people do it anyway.

FLH believe it or not I haven't been flashed by
cars with these lights but once.. I did take the time
to aim them down and get a good pattern in fact I think
I could raise them up, I'll try and get a night time picture of them

part of the good thing is your lights won't look llike
anything else so you'll get attention..

JMO I too had a hard time with the price but I've
dumped thousands in engines, paint, seats, chrome
pipes, so it's really a good investment in safety..

I agree with most advise that was given here on this topic and I just decided that yes while being the most attentive person on the road is an excellent way to aid in accident avoidance, it is by no means the only way. I have decided that once my ride gets put back together I will do what it is that I need to do to get these lights put in my bike. I just think that by having the ability to be seen easier aids in accident prevention and again, not the only way. There are just so many different things that can happen at any given moment. NOTHING IS FULL PROOF!! ;)
