He should be doing life, he killed a biker, driving drunk in a truck, illegally passing cars at 50+ mph in a 25 mph zone in a no passing residential area..

If it was joe schmoe everyone here would be coming out of the wood
work to hang the left turn, illegal passing killer.

He is a POS... I don't care what he built or what TV show he was on
he is a drunk driving motorcyclist killer...

Yeah I know it chaps my butt I saw his guilty butt walking Daytona after
it happened, people were going up for him to sign a shirt or hat or get pictures
after what happened, maybe they didn't know what happened, but still
he had balls to walk around a bunch of riders after killing one...

I jsut got off the phone with a guy from down in Florida about this 63 Duo Glide that I am sure that I am going to buy. He told me that he will have one of his cop friends from Minnesota and run the numbers that I gave him on this bike to find the previous owner so I can get more information about it. This guy that I spoke to was really helpful in telling me what other types of things that I need to look for on these types of bikes, specifically the exhaust spigots. He told me that they have a tendency to crack and is usually covered by people just slipping the exhaust pipe up further on the spigot. Any experience with this???

yup..........they do crack, and chip. if not to bad you can slip the pipe up enough to cover and be ok. if not you can get them rebuilt to shovel specs. much stronger, and more pipes to choose from

Thanks Chucktx! Now as far as the tranny goes, is there any tell tale signs on this that I should be looking out for? Where are the numbers on the tranny, if any that I can use to cross reference to see if it is the original one or not???

the numbers are on the bottom of the case. if the case was changed, the numbers will not match. wouldnt worry about the numbers, i would be more concerned the it shifts ok......they are a very easy transmission to rebuild if a problem arises:)........

I guess I am looking for ways to get this bike down in price. This guy is asking way too much for it and I need ammunition. Where would I be able to check these number at? Harley should be able to tell me if they are correct yes?
