When idling, my bike isnt super loud, but when I get on the throttle it can be pretty noisy. A few times a week I'll catch a cager on their cell phone roll up the window, but I figure if that happens they did their job....I let that distracted sob know that I was there & not to cut me off. The fact is so many of these people are too busy smoking, eating, drinking, talking, making calls, & texting their Emo boyfriends to notice the rest of us on the road. Gotta have an edge somewhere.

Now seems like a good time to remind everybody that it takes very little effort and money to join your local motorcycle rights organization. They are the only ones who give a damn about us. Were it not for TMRA we would have a manditory helmet law in Texas. Hope y'all have a good Sunday ride today. I know I am going to head out on the Hi Way and listen to those step tuned Hooker's (pipes that is) sing, ahhhh, music to the ears. BTW the only ones who might be bothered way out here in West Texas is the armidillos and the prarrie dogs. AL

Hey Al, the Law don't hassle you for puttin' the inspection sticker on the side of the bike -vs- over / under the license plate? Here in Central Texas they will.

Yeah that picture is a couple of years old. I got by with it for three years and then they got a new kid doing the inspections and I couldn't bull**** him out of a sticker. It was on a Monday when the local Indy was closed (no HD dealer here) so I went home and made a custom sticker plate out of aluminum diamond plate scrap I had laying around and powder coated it anodize blue. The backer on my license plate I also power coated anodize blue along with many of the stainless steel allen bolts and acorn nuts on the bike, Nothing gaudy but if you look close you will see them. Al,
Is that an oil cooler on the front? I can't make it out in the pic, but it looks interesting.

You nailed it Chuck. Here's how it looks with the cover off. I like the fact that it sits right out front where it can do some good. I forget now where I got it. AL

Well as far as the pipes go....just today while riding in a 35-40 zone my screamin eagle pipes, which have baffles but can be loud when gassed, kept a lady from pulling over right into me. She had the turn signal on and had to know I was there. When I get in that area of blind spot I will usually get on it a little to remind them I'm still there. They usually start to move over as soon as the signal starts if not before. She definitely heard me there and actually then turned her head to look and then waited. I'm not one to make exta noise just because I can, but it can definitely help keep you safe if used when you need to. Loud good, quiet not so good.

picked up the SE pipes from marc, they are very informative pipes they will let you know I am there but you have to crack the throttle. and you can notice that people become aware that you are around. but, as the saying goes, :gah: you can't fix stupid.

Glad to hear you get **** on your side of the pond! its not too bad at the moment with regards to loud pipes as the big issue is about charging us for riding on the roads (additional to our Annual Road Found Licence) Yet another stealth tax. This time they are calling it congestion charge:gah:and want us to pay for riding in built up areas.:witsend: So in responce it is intended to show them congestion on the Saturday 20th October in the center of London with around 10,000 bikes. Think I will take out the Baffles;)

now that makes sense (to me anyway) every bike from miles and states around should stage protestests in the city that is after bikes thats closest to them and bring the thunder down, and see if they are willing to give out a few thousand tickets and the ones that do, go to court and fight it as a whole. then stand up and do it again until they revoke the b.s. laws.:banghead:

Got me some Cycle Shack rocket tips ordered for my Road King. Can't wait to bring that geezer glide a little bit more alive.
As far as protests and tying up the road ways, Some of you other old timers on board here may remember when they tried to pass a Federal helmet law and bikers tied up traffic big time all the way to DC from all over the nation and beat the law. Doubt if that kind of spirit exists with the new breed of yuppies on Harleys today. Although I can see how they would make an impact, just think, all those bikes being pulled behind SUVs in trailers. LOL> AL

Oh it's a free country alright, until you do something that some whinny f##k or some special interest group doesn't like. America is no longer a country, it's a corporation. Not enough people in this country anymore with the balls to stand up and tell all these a$$holes to get f##cked. Makes me sick. :puke:

Really tired of all these a##holes getting what they want and the real Americans get the shaft. We have a city here in Michigan that has been a polish catholic community for many genrations. The Supreme court and special interests groups say you can't talk about religion or God for fear of offending some foreign f##k. You can't put a manger up at city hall because it offends those that don't believe in God or believe in Allah.

So the Muslim's start moving into this city and the next thing you know their in our courts screming about their rights. They claimed their rights were being violated because the citizens won't allow them to practice their religious beliefs. So the courts overruled all the generations of citizens that built this city and gave the Muslims thier rights.

So now when you come to Michigan and visit the city of Hamtramac, you will hear Muslim prayers, being broadcast, 5 times a day over loud speakers that are mounted on the outside of the temple they built in this city.

A couple miles from my house some Muslim f##k just opened a beauty salon supply store. The name of his business is on the outside of his building in big red neon letters. He calls his business "911 Beauty Supplies". :wtf: What an insult to the American people. Wouldn't mine seeing one of our boys make a pass in an F-18 and level the f##cking place.

Sorry for the rant boys but I'm really tired of all the balless panty waisted pu##ies that are bringing this country down. :cussing: Need to get a few million of us to ride across this country with our loud pipes and clean house. I say "Kill em all, Let God sort em out".
