FLHT Biker ......was it the 09 lower shocks kit or a different lowering kit on his bike that caused the problems?

My friend Bob didn't go with the shocks he put a lowering mount hardware kit in and everytime he rode it there went the wires inside the fender even with higher air pressure. Maybe he set it to low but they sure didn't work for him.

Chuck and me has the same lowering kit.
There sure is a heck of a lot of room inbetween the tire and fender.
Can't see how the wires could rub on ours.

there are a lot of different lowering kits available....very possible his is different from what ours is and that is why he is having the rub problem....too many variables to tell what happened with out seeing the problem......i dont have enough miles on mine to tell if i am going to have that problem or not......havent loaded it down with two up or my trailer.....as i said....time will tell!!!!!!!!!!

Not doubtin it didn't rub on the bike yer talkin about man,.

Just was makin a statement that the kit we have set the shocks backward and lookin up in the fender weld on hours, it looks to be plenty of room to even lower our bike lower with no problem.

Sorry if'n you took me wrong, I'm just on the other end of this keyboard tryin to put words o n it.

When ya add the ranting symbol to it, it makes it appear differently.

I'm going to be over at his place soon and going to look into what kit he got. He may have very well have gotten something for a totally different bike. He is usually smarter than to put something on that would not fit the application, just have to wait and find out when I go over there.

As for the windshield on your wifes bike I was just poking fun at ya. :D

I ride a little fast on the roads, my wife wants to ride slow.
We went down to ChuckTx and got a used windshield on her bike.
I kept askin her if she could tell any difference and she said she didn't know.
Well after we rode most of the day and went back to Chucktx and took the windshied off, when we left she said it was like somebody was trying to push her off the bike.
We found a quick detachable light smoke 18" windshield at the harley dealer.

I'll break in here, if you're running the low profile shocks there should be no issue at all. I think they're only an inch or so shorter than stock. I've been running the short shock for 5 years. Two up pulling the trailer you have to have around 30 lbs in them and a hard bump will bottom out the bike if it's big enough. The stock length has a nicer ride but I need to be able to flat foot the bike at stops. The ride will be like the Street Glide ..it should work for you

Turns out I'm going to see Bob tonight at the chapter HOG meeting. Called him today as he is a sign painter-pin striper. I had a Canopy put on my Dodge truck today and need new lettering and logo's for the inspection business. I'll ask him where he got those lowering brackets from.

Talked to my friend Bob tonight and he bought them from another guy who was going to put them on his street glide. The other guy had bought it new and my friend was installing it now on a ultra. Must be a difference in the kit between the two bikes. He is going to go with the shocks from a street glide now.
