Out here its not just a matter of having a 4x4. 4x4 doesn't mean you can go as fast as you want in snow. It means if you adjust your speed appropriately you have a chance. I hate an asshole that goes zipping by recklessly. And if I see him in the ditch I keep going, well I might wave.

I see more 4X4's off the side of the road than any other vehicle...They think they can go anywhere at any speed...

+1 ...Although I did stop twice, once when a Cavalier blew by me(I was doing 1/2 the posted limit, because that was as fast as I could safely go) then he hit a drift across the highway,he started to fishtail, then spin out,the when he left the highway rolled 3 times and the car came to rest on it's side,my damn conscience wouldn't let me pass by....second time soccer mom in her invincible SUV 4x4 was upside down in the ditch(no kids in the truck, thank God)same stretch of highway...both cases neither was seriously hurt, just rattled and a little banged up....After I saw both were OK,my comment to them was"Well,I guess you're really going to be late now" Azzhats!!

We only got about 3" yesterday, but you'd think the world was coming to an end . People here drive the same way - without any regard for the snow & ice on the road.

Thought I would mention that the past several days my laptop keeps jumping back to my home page from here, usually right in the middle of writing a message. Also there are other glitches. I don't know if it's the forum or my computer . . .

I wish we would get more than a glaze of ice. The idiots still get on the road so give us some snow too so we get SOME moisture. You all are getting what never developed here. All we get is bumper cars. At least the temps are improving.

Its interesting to hear that even in the frozen north of Canada that people drive as bad as they do here. I guess idiots are idiots and there is no help for any of them. It's warmed up here finally and going to meet Olbill and Maddog plus a few others at a motorcycle restaurant called Fenders for lunch today. If the weather stays like this (sunshine and no rain) I may ride.
On the extended side of things it looks like cold weather and possibly snow again by next weekend. :(

Well I could testify to the lack of driving skills and or courtesy by the Montreal and Quebec folks. They come down the east coast to play in Florida. They drive worse than Boston drivers !
