Got to go put 3 carbs on a Yamaha motor. The wind is blowing hard and its suppose to rain. So we took a rain day and come home.
Its riding and Mudbug season Johnny.
    You ought to try some.
Go out to the creek and dig a few hundred up.
Or find somebody that can have em shipped up to you.

All you got to do is make em Puke, don't stick yer finger to far when yer doing it oh, and cook em in Crab Boil

If I get the opportunity to ride down to Texas or Florida I will have to try them. No mud bugs here in Sota as far as I know.

Mudbugs AKA crawdads AKA crawfish AKA crayfish taste most closely to spiny lobster. Generally, they are cooked in spicy boils - but I've had 'em cooked every way that lobster or shrimp are prepared. They don't taste muddy to me, unless I'm suckin' da goo in the front half, Cajun style.

PS - I'm thinkin' Tualatin may be worth a visit in August.

crawfish are found in every state in the union.....ya just have to search them out. google em up for your state. then see who is preparing them. they have a season so the time you are looking may not be the good time for them

I dropped a worm on a hook in a lake one time and brought up a big ass Crawfish or Crawdads as they call em sometime. Pulled a pincher off and used it as bait and caught a hug German Brown trout.

It's amazing how the German Brown Trout has populated throughout the country. Largest one I ever had the pleasure of landing myself was 28". We have a state park on Long Island that raises browns, 'bows, Kamloop strain of 'bows, and tiger trout. It is just a tidal stream impoundment that was estimated to have up to 10,000 trout per mile! It was a great place to learn. You pay for a 4 hour session in a particular "beat". Flyfishing only. I taught a lot there. We get people from all over the eastern seaboard coming there to catch very large and/or numerous trout. We even get many "searuns" that are a blast and more sporting than the resident fish.
