That sounds cool Al. I have more free time in the summer, so I'll try something similar myself then. That's quite a nice bit of riding there Wideglide. If the "Daytripper" Mustang seat I'm waiting on is anywhere near as comfortable as the "Sundowner" is and looks somewhat better, I'll be a happy camper.

I have the mustang pillow seat and I wouldn't trade it for anything,I have the original seat too,but just looks like some leather molded around a board, and being older now, comfort means more to me than looks.

Thanks guys, now I'm really anxious to try it out. The weather report for next week looks promising, 60 degrees, Mustang seat = 2 hour ride before I start work!

Just got my Mustang "Daytripper" seat from an eBay deal. It's in great shape, but I won't be able to try it out until Sunday. Funny thing though, it's the same basic size as the Badlander seat I have. It seemed like it would be bigger from the pictures I'd seen. I know it would have been better to see it on a bike before buying it, but I was impatient.

I also have a "Sundowner" that's too big and too butt ugly for my taste. My idea was to keep the Badlander for city rides, sell the Sundowner and find something a little bigger than the Badlander for highway use. Now, I'll have to compare the Daytripper to the Badlander, sell the loser, while continuing to look for the touring model, uggh....

Finally got the Mustang "Daytripper" installed and tried it on for size. The answer to my question... is yes, the Mustang seat is really good. The one I bought is about the same style and design as the Badlander, but one step better on every level. It's slim, yet reasonably padded and comfortable. The stitching gives a slightly custom look, and it's tolerable for two up on local runs. I think it's a keeper. Now I can do exactly what the name of the seat suggests, a "Day Trip" without adding to the Monkey Butt. I can now wait a bit, look around, go to rally's and see what else is out there for longer rides.

That leads me to my next topic to post, why the heck did I run out of gas on the highway with only 67 miles put on. I pulled over, switched to reserve and got some gas. I expected 90 -100 miles. This doesn't bode well for three hour rides...

After riding for a few days I gotta say that I'm lovin' the Mustang seat. I'll look into a slightly bigger version for touring, but even the small Daytripper might be OK for longer rides, it's that good.

Excellent Feedback regarding the Mustang seats compared to the Corbin Seats

I have an 07' SG with the stock seat. I just took a couple hour ride with the wife on the back, she was able to manage, but it got uncomfortable after the trip. I am now considering the mustang over the corbin due to the feedback i just read.

:roflmao: The female side always gives us more trouble:roflmao: But we still love em;)

The Mustangs are the best seat I've used and with the riders backrest, even better. They also have a wide touring seat for Sporty's it has a wide passenger seat on it too, Hellboy your sweety will like it.

    Hey guys.

I haven't been on in a while. I've taken ill and am just getting well again.

Anyhow, I finally got a Mustang seat for my Fatboy. What a difference! I found it in one of the ebay stores called The Hawg Trough. They have them very reasonably priced and they shipped it fast.

Hey crew, I bought a 97 Vulcan 1500 classic and the first thing I did was replace the stock seat with a mustang. The mustang seat is with out a doubt probably the most road worthy seat on the market. When I bought my fatboy back in 01 I wanted something more low profile so I bought a Lepera bare bones with gel. Not a bad looking seat but not comfortable at all. Well, I used the seat all this time and finally had enough of that so I went and bought the mustang for the fatboy. What a great seat I can ride all day and not complain ones. With the Lepera seat I would ride a few hours and that was it, time to go home and dip my rear end in Epson salt...

    Mustang/Corbin

I didn't expect to see the results that have been posted on the Mustang seats. From all the people I've talked to comparing Mustang to Corbin the Corbin seemed to come out on top [75% of the time]. I guess it's all in who you talk to. One comment for "Sportsterboy" on the thread is worthless w/o pictures... By the looks of your avatar, the pictures wouldn't help any ways, you don't seem to have any eyes :)

I must be a little different than the rest... I've switched seats on my Road King [Sundowner]but noticed the biggest improvement when I added a backrest! Also if you don't mind temporary ugly you could put an Airhawk on your seat just for trips, let the air out and store it when you reach your destination.

1 more plus for Mustang seats is they're waterproof!! Ater 23 days straight of rain then 5 days of none, now 5 more rainy, the stock HD E glide seat I have on the Cop King is saturated,I push down on it and water flows out and my azz is soaked.
Last year my Heritage would be parked outside all day every day and we had 3 weeks of rain I just wiped off the Mustang seat and away I went on a dry seat, rain or shine.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Florida and the Gulf States especially Louisiana and New Orleans. Keep Safe...material goods can always be replaced.

I can't believe I haven't said anything on this thread. Love my solo Mustang, and when I'm going for a longer ride, I throw the removable backrest on. It isn't the sexiest seat out there, but sometimes you have to sacrifice a little in the way of looks for comfort. It's not bad looking, but it probably would look better if it was smaller.

In my experience, I've heard people say great things about Corbin until they've tried a Mustang. Of course it has to do with the model as well. The other seats I tried were not the same style as the Mustang I ended up with. It's likely that after trying to keep the slim style with other brands, I realized that with as many miles as I'll put on in a good weekend, it was time to give up trying to look so hip.

    Hello:

I just put a mustang on my FLHX. It isn't fully broken in yet. I got the widest and thickest seat that mustang sold. Also if you like to order online I would recommend midwestmotorsports.com for buying the seat. Best price around. The seat was the best choice I made so far. Hope this helps.

Can you give me more info regarding where you bought your seat. I looked up midwestmotorsport, but could not locate mustang seats on their site. I'm thinking there is more than one midwestmotorsport out there. any info would be appreciated. Im looking for a seat for my 07' FLHX.

    THANKS.
