Need a little handlebar help.

    another thought is to use a checkering file. You can get them from gunsmithing stores. You wouldn;t need to cut too deep just enough to get a pattern. Tape off the area around to keep the "oops" from showing. Use course sand paper to break through the chrome plating. That should give you enough grip.

    Well I didn’t get the hand grips I wanted for Christmas so I am putting the job off till I get them so I can do every thing at once. Even though it would be quick and EZ to take the clamps off and put them on again. I don’t think I will buy that tool because I have precious little room and a weight limit to worry about plus I would probably only use it once. When I do it I’ll be trying the aluminum can trick until I can find someone to knurl the bars for me. I’ll let you know how it goes. thanks for all your sugestions.
