I recently moved up to a New 2014 Ultra. I installed V&H round twin slash slip-ons. Now, is it necessary to add a tuner? The bike seems to run FANTASTIC and sounds great also.

Everything I've read and about 10 new bikes in club is no for mufflers only. Add a free flowing breather then it's a yes.

The rushmore page on H-D says "no need to add free-flow intake as it has one already". Of course I had to inspect the innards of the A.C. It looks as free flowing as could be. Also washable element.

But the bike came with it so my feeling is no tuner required.

the street is a local gravy and biscuit diner...

I don't feel any need to. I just don't want to hurt the motor. The bike runs really strong compared to my 09 Str, Gld, stage 1....Way more power.

There is NO need to goofe with it,it seems my whole crew just got new 14 bikes and all have changed mufflers with no problems at all. I will hold out til 16 to look at a new one then I will have the new one. My 11 with 55,000 is running just fine, its a 110 and I've had only the lifters replaced thats all. No reason to off it. It is starting to use a little oil, I got oil.

Thanks Paui. What's his address and what can I expect to pay. Right now I have no tuner(PC-V, etc.) on bike so, $$ is somewhat of a concern, Also, do you think leaving it with just the muffler change hurt the motor?

I put V&H mufflers on mine with nothing else and it's running fine. However if I change the headers out to get rid of the cat then I'll have a tune put on it. For now the tuner guy here said that I shouldn't have to do anything with just a muffler change. If you change the air cleaner to like a K&N which is more free flowing then that will also make it leaner so then you probably would.

In hot weather I keep mine enabled but the cooler temps I disable it. If I'm stuck in heavy traffic I enable it also. I've got the water cooled heads and it runs cooler than my 12 did.

I got a PC 5 from fuel moto tuned for my mods. Gas milage dropped from 43 to 35, no noticeable performance gains. Took it off. Waiting to hear from them
