Lucifer, back to your questions, they did stop making the stripper version of the bike, if he wants pure FL ride and none of the infotainment then get an 09 to current Road King.

All the latest tech on the bike, no faring, he'd probably be happy with that, other wise get the base level ultra, he'll be in love with the tour pack after a short while anyway.

Which ever he considers buying test ride it first. While test riding do 2 tests:

    1) get up to 40mph 4th gear and let go handle bars. As the bike decelerates it should coast straight and no wobble 2) get up to 30mph 3rd gear and lock in cruise and take hands off handle bars. It should run straight and true,no wobble.

If in either instances there is a wobble, it shouldn't wobble. My 1998,2001 and 2015 Ultra didn't wobble. My 2012 Ultra wobbled violently in both instances. I took it to several dealers multiple times and was told I would have to live with it. Called MOCO twice, first tech said it shouldn't happen. 2nd tech said no problem..keep your hands on the handle bars. Everything was tried. new front tire. tightened steering dampner. fall away test. of the multiple times it was test ridden by staff some (managers)said they didn't notice it, others (techs) acknowledged the problem.

I think the best bang for your touring buck is between 2002(first year of delphi for touring)-2008. And 2014 and up.

I was looking for steering dampners when the Ultra Low came out. Disapointed but an easy decision. Its still for sale:

I'm guessing he'll probably go with a Road King...unless he finds a fairly new Geezer Glide with no computer screen on it...When Demo days come up,he's going to take a few out...and we're checking the low mile used market too...

Well, the King wasn't black...It was a special order 2 tone paint. The dealer ordered it because he liked the colors....He said if it was black,it wouldn't be here now...lol
My buddy told him he was kinda looking for a Street Glide originally and dealer said he has one out back in the crate, just came in,and it's black....
So it's coming outta the crate and he's going in tomorrow to check it out...Infotainment will probably grow on him and his kids will teach him how to use it;)

This is the King colors ....
