Go to your signature and at the top to the right of the little face with the tongue sticking out is a small smiley face with a box around it. Click it on and a URL will show up. Past your copy of the signature into the URL line then hit enter and then save the page, should work.

Sorry Joshbob, heck he knows we are trying to help you.

Your seat setup is going to look good, make sure you send pics when it's finished. It's always rewarding when you finish something that is your design and it works. I had the same sort of dilemma when I was relocating the turn signals on my springer from the handlebars to the front by the forks. Had to make my own brackets and after a bit of trial are error it came together. I've even had other owners ask how I made them, so its kind of rewarding when its your design. :D

It's ok about the hi-jack, RG. I don't mind; I do it sometimes and it seems others are tolerant of my transgressions. Hope you get it figured out.

Seems I will have to pay a welder to come over to the shop when I'm ready to put all the pieces together. The alternative is loading the ol' thang on the truck and hauling to a welding shop. I very nearly lost the bike on my narrow loading ramp last time, so I'll forgo that anxiety and pay a guy to come over. Besides, the truck will be at the Ford stealership at least another two weeks and $640 later. They say I need a new brake booster & master cylinder & a headlight switch which is causing all my electrical woes. At $92 an hour, I figure nearly all of it is labor. Just sunk $545 in it a couple weeks ago. Yup, old stuff wears out . . . I just wish it wouldn't do it all at once .

But the timing couldn't be more perfect for the bike mods. Today & tomorrow we could get up to a foot of snow and temps as low as 9 degrees at night. Never seen it that cold here before. Time to move farther south, boys!

Found some raw steel bungs for under $20 including shipping on Ebay. Good place to shop - don't have to go anywhere. Of course, the first step is to grind the bottoms off flat, then get them over to a welding shop and have them welded to the brackets I made.

Looks like two more weeks before the ignition bracket and the bungs get welded to the bike. By that time, we'll be half way to March and good riding weather will be just around the corner :D.

In the meantime, we are hunkering down for the most snow we've seen since the winter of '99/2000. I'm afraid you boys farther up the coast are gonna get some of this.

Took a picture of the brackets I made to be welded to the frame crossmember. Was wondering if they are thick enough to be tig welded? They are about 1/16" thick. 20140208_1 (640x480).jpg

Here's what the bungs look like fully assembled. Hoping to get them welded to the frame crossmember sometime this week. 20140217_1 (640x480).jpg
The weather is going to be in the 60s & 70s all week but rain is predicted for all but one day, so maybe I'll get a ride or two in between the raindrops :D.

Well boys, couldn't wait till the bungs got welded on, so I took the scooter out for a short ride late this afternoon - first ride since last November - and first ride since installing the Andrews cam & new nose cone. I'm happy to say that the leak at the cam seal is finally fixed! And the new cam has added some extra power and I notice a difference in the sound of the motor too. Still getting used to the jockey shift/suicide clutch arrangement. I'm liking it that the seat now sits an inch farther back and a bit lower than it did.

I'm hoping to get the welding done tomorrow so the back of the seat isn't riding on the fender anymore - it was a rough 20 mile ride .

Thanks to everybody who helped me along, Bagger Paul & Kirby in particular :D.

I suppose it will always be a work in progress, as they say. But I'm glad it's up and running again. Parked the bike outside last night and threw a tarp over it - might get a few stray showers this morning - but I'm still riding over to Mike's shop (my farm mechanic buddy) across town to get the bungs & ignition bracket MIG tacked in place. He's not the world's best welder, but he's always willing to help. Tomorrow looks to be a clear day, so will take the longer ride into Tarboro and have the pieces TIG welded by a pro shop.

Yep,always a work in progress, lets hope your repair/replace process is finally done and now it's just maintenance & mods you want to do ,not have to do:D
A BIG thumbs up to Paul & Kirby for helping you get that motor to breathe right:cool:

Yeah, it definitely runs better with more power. I notice more power in all the gears, and especially in the mid to higher RPMs.

Looks like it's gonna rain all morning - don't appear I'll get the welding done today - Mike only works half days since his surgery. Wish I would have drove up the ramp last night and parked the scoot inside. But it's covered and should be okay. This afternoon the sun's coming out. I guess the riding season here has officially begun ;).

I think I'm going to go with a rocker clutch set up instead of the suicide - it's gotten hairy once or twice LOL.
