find the cradle for your model
add a ram ball to the back
3 inch arm or 1.5 inch
mount to the bars with ball

run cable to the aux up front, or

pull HK radio and splice in a rear aux port
if you got the nads to do that yourself
or ironcrossradio.com will do it for you

Hey CB, I can remember when he said no fairing to, :roflmao:
You'll eventually see all the advantages, especially when you start hanging out more with the HOG chapter. Your getting there JB, next thing you know your going to be getting a Tour Pak with the quick disconnect set up :D

Our new Chapter is having a class for using your GPS for mapping, setting up routes and loading from the computer to the GPS.

Actually, I almost bought one and only because it was painted the color of my RG already. No, I just don't think that I am going to go that rout. A rack and nice sized tbag will do for me. As far as the GPS goes, now that I can deal with, especially when I take the bike to Nevada to go visit Red Rider sometime.

You are right. I said that I could handle the GPS more than the other stuff. I do not have a gps for the bike. At one point I was going to get one but I decided against it. Too expensive, but tunes in its traditional form, why not?

That is too funny! It is true people have the dvd players entertaining their children in the back seats. What happened to just riding and looking at the scenery as you drive?

I agree with you on most of your points and a good map will get you where you want but and I mean a big but and that is Washington friggen DC or any big back east city for that matter. Not from that area and if it had not been for Maddogs GPS we would probably still be there trying to figure out how to get the blazes out of there. On the open road didn't need it. They are sure nice finding a house when doing my home inspections in areas I'm not familiar with.

Until you've owned a good Garmin gps
You gave no idea what all they can do for you
But if you want to keep yer brain closed you can do that

You can point yer front wheel anywhere you want to
    Gps don't stop that
It takes a little time to learn
But it opens another world for you
You can use more tools than a hammer in yer toolbox

With a GPS you can see a 90 * turn ahead in the road

You can zoom in and out to see larger roads and cities.
Sometimes you can see a road is a dead end before you waste yer time going down it.
And when you point yer bike in a direction and ride a hundred miles and wonder how to git home. Just press the menu button and say go home.

A GPS is another tool in yer tool box to help you.
It can make mistakes, but if you zoom out and back in you can keep up with the direction you should be heading.

You got to take time and learn the unit.
Its just not turn it on and go.
The unit will do more than you realize too.
And the who united states is on the Zumo.
I've had one for about 5-6 yrs. I really like the advantage of having it.

Yes CB they have their place .... I'm just not sure the handlebar of a motorcycle is one of them.... When you're zooming in and out on the screen, how do you see what's going on on the real road in front of you.....does it show a critter jumping out of nowhere or a hazard on the road that you could react to if you were watching the road instead of a screen ..... just sayin ....

JB it's a standard male to male cable from Radio shack for your phone
whatever MM it takes I think Iphones are 3.5mm the Radio Shack boys
    will know.

Plug it into the earphone output on the phone and to the input on AUX
on the front of the radio, then load up Iheart, or Pandora, or the tunes
you have in mp3 and control them from the phone.

Run the wire down the bar, through the inner nacile, out the bottom,
zip tie to frame, then up to the radio, leave slack, or, get a shorter wire
and plug in when you use, pop it in the glove box when not in use.

You really do want to have a mount on the bars for the phone
because you won't be putting the phone in the glove box to bounce
around, and you can control it from the bars easy.

The Ram mount cradle, bar, balls and mount to bars will set
you back maybe $50 at the top. You take it off when not in use
as it's a simple twist lock.

Now if you want to do it right contact Iron Aces
they make a custom mount, connects to the top on the
inner gauge pod, then you attach whatever cradle from GPScity
fits your phone. Run the Aux cable from there to the front, or,

Do like I did and get the iSimple hardwire kit for Iphones
and run it under the tank to power, then back up under the front
nacielle to the radio, I put a second Aux jack in the radio, it's easy
so the wires are all hidden, with the iSimple the Phone is always charging
    while it's in use.

    iSimple Media Cable

Links have pictures of the mount, no it's not cheap, it's a low production custom part
made for one type of bike and was done by a local shop, usa made. Quality stuff

You want to do it for less the cpscity cradle/ram mount is the way to go...
