1st service after I had the drive belt changed on the King, I found the primary chain was tighter than a piano string,I could also hear a whining sound in there, but didn't think it was that tight.
I loosened the chain off to 7/8" and dumped a quart of B&M Trick Shift in. A few weeks later I started to hear a grinding coming from the primary,so I thought the inner primary bearing was toast from the overly tight chain.
I drained the primary and blue, well blueish fluid came out:eek: The motor oil I'm using is blue and I thought the B&M was red(what a memory I have:p)Freaked me out a bit, only about a quart drained from the primary so motor oil wasn't leaking into the primary:) I came in and Googled B&M Trick Shift and found it is blue also...
When I took the primary cover off, this is what I found.

That's better than an IPB bearing replacement

If you look at bottom pic...you can see he used 1104 or some sealant to hold the gasket on...Do you think that would leak if I reused it??

Yeah it's good to take a look at those periodically.

I'd put a new gasket on.

Haha....He's pretty good at running and hiding ... I've reused gaskets a few times,if you're careful and they weren't over torqued, primary, derby and inspection cover gaskets I've used 3 or 4 times with no leaks ...but I don't use anything to stick them in place either.
I kinda answered my own question when I asked it...it wasn't too bad cleaning all the chit off the surfaces,it was threebond 1104 case sealant he used.

I remember using Gaskacinch (sp?) on my head gaskets but nowhere else. No leaks. I always get leaks at seals LOL.
