The more new tech stuff in em the more can go wrong, I guess the days of a roadside fix and the simple V-Twin are pretty much gone eh.

That's it Lucifer. Going back about 25 years, I remember pulling a small hair tie out of a pig tail to donate for a throttle return. Fixed that problem quickly. The funny part was that the same thing happened with my second husband and I knew what to do. Genius!

That'll never happen now. I'm afraid to give up my carb for fuel injection, so I guess I'm one of those old fogies on my 2001.

I love EFI, much easier to tune, no gas on your fingers from changing jets means I can smoke my cigar and tune the bike.

Buddy has an EFI 06 103 CVO did heads, cams pipes etc.

I tuned on the street with the Daytona Twin Tech and wide band sensors.

ended up 110 HP/TQ and 45 MPG on his last trip and he's happier than a pig in slop..

OTOH my cv51 has been a bit of a PIA to tune for cool running and MPG
30 to 32 is about the best on the 124, I think it's a problem with the throttle grip, seems to twist too far to fast....

Basically they invested in robot welders and water based frame extrusion (hydroform like the vettes rails) to make the parts, 50% fewer parts and welds makes it a stronger frame, new swingarm for wider tire and setup, more stable

Also new alignment system on motor to reduce shakes.

If I had a bagger I'd consider this a major upgrade over the early tc's

In fact I'm thinking new RG...... probably wait until summer of 09

Then the waterglides will be out....

You can have the rear cylinder to cut out on the 08's if that's what you want, Think possibly the 07's might do it.

All I know is a friend of mine who I won't call his name put a set of cams in his bike and made me weak cause I been waitin since last oct when I got my bike.
So I stuck a set of Woods TW6-6 cams in my bike and it was starvin for air and was HOT. I put a Arlen Ness Big Shot tuner on my bike and a Big Sucker on and my bike cooled off.

Went over a friends house yesterday that has 2 harleys and a ST1300 Honda. He had the Side fairing off the Honda and was puttin it back together, and I was asking about some of the pieces of plastic fairing, He said the water cooled Honda needed the plastic fairing that it put off more heat then you could ever imagine.
So if you think a water cooled motorcycle is yer answer , I do not know where you are gittin yer logic from.

The water cooled motorcycles do put out a lot of heat. To cool a water cooled motorcycle you run water from a radiator just like an auto. Just like a auto that radiator gets hot and must have a fan to help cool it especially in slow traffic, hot weather and under heavy loads. When those fans kick in the air blown over the radiator is very hot and yep it tends to make its way back to the rider. Been there done that. You also like an auto have added maintenance with the radiator and water cooled system. Been at the side of the road a few times in the past with an over heated Goldwing. Had to stop at a few creeks along the road to add water. Hey, you do what you have to do. Had to pull an impeller off and replace it in a camp ground twice. Had leaking radiators, gaskets, caps and other parts on a water cooled motorcycle. So for me at least no thanks no water cooled motorcycles anymore, I'll keep my air cooled Harley. Besides the smell of antifreeze on a hot motor really stinks and is annoying, been there done that to.
