Apparently in early May I did this. I was fly fishing in what we call the mud hole and I stepped into a hole with that leg. Went in up to crotch. I had a hell of a time pulling leg out. Knee hurt for a day or so. Probably slightly dislocated it and that got the lesion growing. Doc said a dislocation usually causes this. So the moral of story is stay out of areas called mud holes!

That happened to me last year when I crashed only when they put me back together the leg was longer than the one not broken. When my new doc this year was prepping for the bone graft I told him to cut the donor bone 1/8 inch shorter. He must have because I'm standing straight again.

At least have 1/3 the number of screws this time. I lost count at 26 with the first surgery.

LOL. I carry my docs business card which he stated on the back I have surgically implanted metal. So see how easy it would be to have a bomb implanted and pass it off as something else. TSA would have no idea. You know those bomb crazy jerks have doctors ready to help.

Yea, I have to carry a special ID card about the band on heart valve for airports. One time I didn't tell them and had them really excited. I finally told em when the wanted to do a strip search. :p

Or maybe some of us like me are just too stupid to know they are in trouble. I walked on mine for a year with screws and hardware breaking. My second doctor after the trauma doctor put me back together just kept taking out the screws and hardware. I kept telling him I was in constant pain so he finally threw up his hands and said, I give, I don't know why and sent me to an ankle specialist. They guy took one look and asked where my wheel chair was. He was almost as white as a ghost when he saw the X-rays. He wanted me to walk back out with crutches but I refused. So some like me are just dumb!

BTW...I just returned from that doc and got the clear to ditch the boot and put full weight on the ankle. Told him I was going to jump on the bike as soon as I got home. He said please don't. Give it a few days to get my ankle stronger. Damn docs! Spoiling the fun at every turn.

I'd get a lighter bike before I'd put a training wheel on my bike, say a 650 Triumph or something similar.

I went in for the surgery yesterday morning bright and early. :doctor::nurse: I spent the days before getting in some last rides for the few months expected to be off the bike. I also put stabilizer in the tank and ran it through the injectors and topped the tank. Waxed it up and covered it. Winterized and closed the pool. Stored away outdoor furniture. And just got things done that I would normally do in September into October (except store the scooter). Well, I woke up from the surgery and found out that the doc couldn't remove the lesion. It turns out to be bigger than expected and didn't have clearly defined borders that help with the removal. If he did remove it my knee would have been trashed. He did repair the meniscus and removed some scared tissue. Essentially he bought me some time until the knee gets replaced. Some have asked me why didn't he just replace it? Because we were setup for and arthroscopy and not a major cut and chop shop project AND we didn't have prior approval from the insurance company. So the good news is I can get back on the bike within a couple of weeks and the bad news is I will have continued pain, hopefully less than before but over the next few days will tell.
Thanks for all the well wishes bros.

With a chick like that on the back of your bike that should make you feel young and perky and pain free. :)

Dang! Now you have to prep yourself all over again. That's what really sucks. Mental torture.
