I dont know when dot 5 came out but that is what it had in it. I do know Harley switched to dot 4 in 05.

If you have a buffer (if not Harbor sells one cheap that works as good as any) set the rpms to about 1300 max and try some swirll remover which you can pick up at any decent auto parts store or auto paint store. If you use the wool pad be very carfull around all edges. Its a crap shoot depending how many mils of clear you have on there. Worse case scenario is you burn through the clear which means at least reclearing it. If you burn through the base coat it means at least a spot repair. Or you could take it to a paint and body shop and get a professional opinion or an estimate. Good Luck. AL

Wish I would have seen this thread last month when it started. If you ever have a problem with the local dealership not responding to a problem in the manner that you feel is appropriate, CONTACT HARLEY DAVIDSON DIRECTLY! You'd be amazed at the results. If the tech messed with your brake pads and the pistons, he also had to open up your resevior to add fluid when he bled the system and "checked the fluid level". Can't blame you for not wanting to do business with that dealership, but don't let them get the upper hand when they are just trying to keep their bottom line high. Not all dealerships are like this and ALL TECHS AREN'T HACKS. By the way, the paint looks great! Don't get any DOT 4 on it. If you do, wash it off immediately. I use a foaming type window cleaner an load the hell out of the resevoir and brake handle area every time I open the top just so I know there is no way some of that corrosive brake fluid can get on the paint.

UPDATE .... I am please to report that the owner of the HD Dealership called me this morning. Long story short, he is making the issue right. I am satisfied.

Normally they are $20 a set but you only get to look and that's for about 5 minutes then you have to buy a $7 beer!

Still waiting on the assembled pics.

How much did that paint job cost?

Sorry for being nosy but I need to get a paint job badly so I am trying to save.
